Solar Panel (2nd Generation) (USB-C) for Spotlight Cam Plus, Spotlight Cam Pro, 4W (Black)

Even more efficient than expected. I bought it for a high-definition (2K) outdoor camera placed in a high-traffic area, and therefore draining the battery on both accounts (the battery would last less than a fortnight). It took only 3 days (with only 4-5 hours of sun each) to fully charge both batteries (one close to zero, the other half charged). It charges about 50% of a battery on a short winter's day, as long as there are a few hours of sun. I installed it a week ago and, after the initial charge, both batteries are close to fully charged most of the time. I will see if the second battery is still needed, e.g. as a backup during a long period of overcast days. The panel is installed on a South-facing façade receiving plenty of direct sunlight, so it may require longer to charge in a different setting. I am extremely happy with the purchase and would recommend without reservations. I no longer need to climb up a ladder and fiddle with the battery compartment, the batteries are self-charging. Great result.

This is the 2nd we have purchased as it makes life less hassle not having to worry about the batteries dying and needing to be recharged. Everything you need except for a drill is included in the box and it was fairly easy to put up. This isn’t really that visible against the brown wood around the house as it blends in nicely. When I first plugged it into the ring spotlight camera it didn’t register but with a little wiggling of the wire it then worked and we’ve had no problems since. Even on days when it’s overcast the batteries still get a little bit of charge and constantly shows it’s charging. We really do recommend these and would purchase more as and when required.

Setup was quick and simple — just plug it in via USB-C, mount it where it gets good daylight, and it’s ready to go. Within a day, the camera was charging consistently, and I’ve not had to think about battery levels since. The panel is compact, well-built, and matches the camera nicely. Even on typical UK cloudy days, it still manages to keep the battery topped up without any trouble. It’s also great knowing the camera can stay powered year-round without me climbing up to change batteries. Just attached this to my Ring Spotlight Cam Plus while I’m testing the camera out in the house before installing The battery showed about 96% charged before I plugged in the solar panel and it now shows 100% charged even though I’m just pointing it through our french doors and it’s very dull outside today. The battery is already at 100% within an hour or so I’m sure once this is installed outside with the camera it will work very well UPDATE: Only one of the batteries in the camera seems to be charging properly the other one refuses to charge past 95% UPDATE 2: The second battery is now showing as 100% charged so the solar panel seems to be working perfectly I will update again once it’s been properly installed outside along with the Spotlight Cam Plus camera

A must, works even in poor light, I never needed to remove battery for charging

Although the plastic mounting seems a bit flimsy (we'll see how it is after the next big storm) it was easy to fit and saves the hassle of charging the battery every 3 months or so.

Excellent works a treat

Easy to install and easy to connect up with a weatherproof seal type connection. Keeps the battery topped up perfectly. ( I was changing the battery once a week before )

Questi pannelli funzionano veramente bene, Io li sto testando su due spot light plus E non devo più caricare la batteria da quando li ho installati. Il collegamento attraverso la porta USBC è davvero semplicissima e in confezione hanno incluso anche l'adattatore che serve per utilizzarlo con i vecchi modelli che non hanno la porta USBC ma l'attacco proprietario ring. In una giornata piena di sole se il pannello è ben esposto e capace di caricare più del 30 % della batteria della videocamera quindi abbondantemente superiore alla richiesta dell'utilizzo giornaliero medio Ho sostituito con questi pannelli dei vecchi pannellini cinesi che avevo preso sempre su Amazon e la resa è completamente diversa questo perchè se ring non riconosce i pannelli originali limita la velocità di carica della batteria.

Generation (4W-Version mit USB-C-Anschluss) für meine Spotlight Cam gekauft, da das ständige Abmontieren der Kamera zum Laden des Akkus auf Dauer einfach nervig ist – besonders, wenn die Kamera etwas höher und schwerer erreichbar montiert ist. Ladeleistung & Effizienz: Die 4 Watt Leistung klingen im ersten Moment überschaubar, sind aber für die Spotlight Cam Plus / Pro absolut perfekt dimensioniert. Selbst an Tagen mit wechselhaftem Wetter oder leichter Bewölkung reicht das diffuse Licht aus, um den Akku der Kamera konstant auf einem hohen Level (meistens bei 100 %) zu halten. Seit der Installation musste ich den Akku kein einziges Mal mehr manuell aufladen. Das Panel tut genau das, was es soll: Es liefert echten "Set-and-forget"-Komfort. Verarbeitung & USB-C-Anschluss: Das Panel im eleganten Weiß ist hervorragend verarbeitet und macht einen absolut wetterfesten Eindruck. Die 2. Generation kommt mit dem modernen USB-C-Anschluss, der perfekt und passgenau mit einer Gummidichtung in die Kamera greift. Dadurch ist der Anschluss komplett vor Feuchtigkeit, Regen und Staub geschützt. Das Kabel hat zudem eine angenehme Länge, sodass man das Panel ein gutes Stück entfernt von der Kamera im optimalen Winkel zur Sonne ausrichten kann. Montage & Ausrichtung: Die Installation an der Hauswand war im Handumdrehen erledigt. Die mitgelieferte Halterung ist stabil und lässt sich über das Kugelgelenk flexibel neigen und drehen, um den idealen Sonneneinfallswinkel einzustellen. Einmal festgezogen, verstellt sich auch bei starkem Wind oder Sturm absolut nichts. Fazit: Ja, das Original-Zubehör von Ring hat seinen Preis, aber die Investition lohnt sich ab dem ersten Tag. Man spart sich das regelmäßige Leiterklettern und der Akku wird extrem schonend und kontinuierlich nachgeladen. Wer seine Spotlight Cam Pro oder Plus autark betreiben möchte, macht mit diesem 4W-Solarpanel alles richtig. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung!
