Probably a silly question, but how do you use catnip?

You can put it inside toys, or simply take a pinch of it and give it to them. I usually rub it between my hands gently to help release the scent that they love so much, and then justput it on my bed in a little pile. Some cats just rub on it and roll on it Some cats eat it. They often get a bit silly afterward...sort of like they're high.

it really changes my cats mood

We have a spoiled feral cat who lives on our covered patio, with all his toys, beds etc. We want him to feel at home since he won't come in our home. We decided to buy the catnip to throw on the new cat scratcher. Well, he was in heaven. Mr rolly polly enjoyed it so much. Makes us so happy to see him happy. He has been hanging out with us since 2016, and has become a nice community cat. A neighbor got him fixed a few years ago, and that definitely settled him down to hang out on our patio 20 hours a day. I can pet him now!
