I bought a second hand washing machine which had a filter that had hardened rubber around the seal so it was sealed by limescale, when I removed the filter to check it was clear it developed a massive leak.I found this product as a replacement and while it had teething problems getting it to screw in (seemed to need way more torque to tighten than it should have and still didn't screw in all the way) it initially leaked, then it went down to weeping before it eventually stopped leaking at all. Probably the limescale helping again!Some have mentioned cutting some of the rubber away at the end which makes sense as the original and replacement had a slight difference between them in terms of how thick the sealing gasket was, this would explain me having to use what felt like too much effort to screw it in before it was watertight. I however avoided this and found it to be just fine some months later, just needed a few test runs of a leaking machine before getting it right.It might have been a pain to get it to work but ultimately saved calling out a repair technician so it paid for itself after some effort and lots of expletives!

Purchased to replace a leaky filter - and it worked perfectly. Doesn’t look like much but it saves a damaged floor.
