This pedal eats inspiration and craps creativity. The price seems high for “one” pedal, but don’t be fooled, this is 2 of EVERY effect with a great degree of routing flexibility that makes it similar to a mixer too.Incredible Eventide sound quality, crisp screen interface, military-grade build durability, tons and tons of midi control parameters, and a very well thought out UI that makes it intuitively easy to start working with and yet it can go as deep as you want to take it. So grab your scuba suit and dive in.One thing I wish it had considering the price tag however is audio over usb like the Elektron Analog Heat +FX.Also, shout out to Crazy Dave’s Music store, those guys rock.

I'm already using it on my pedalboard. It has all of the classic algorithms you loved about the H9 and now has the newest algorithms that Eventide now offers. Definitely worth the upgrade. MIDI integration is straightforward and easy to learn (if you already know how to use MIDI on your pedalboard, that is).

First off, this IS a very expensive effects pedals. This kind of investment can get you alot of separates if you were building a dedicated board.That said, you get a huge array of Eventide effects in a tidy, great looking, and great sounding dual effects pedals.The software interface is clearly a must-have, to get the most out of this unit.I'm not sure if the effect algorithms are true one to one copies of the Eventide effects found in their other hardware, but it's good enough to use live or in studio.On the other hand, it isn't intuitive to use. I can see where some folks would be disappointed in some ways.For instance, you can't easily just go into the the effects settings and pick a flanger on one side and fuzz in the other, and/or flip the order.It's all based on whatever pre-existing algo's they have available and then being able to tweak those to your liking.It would functionally be much easier to just have the effects list available when creating your own presets, and being able to start with a clean slate if so desired.Also, it would've been nice to have an IR cab or 2 available at the output.If it did, this could potentially become a self contained unit, allowing for a nice travel piece of kit.Seeing that Eventide has started selling individual effects pedals, I hope some of those new algo's end up here. For now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but....We'll see.

I recommend downloading the app for windows or mac to make programming your own presets easier (it uses a USB-C cable so make sure you have one handy). Creating and tweaking presets can be accomplished with the unit alone, but the app makes it much easier.
