Great
I was worried this wouldn’t be as strong as our corded drill and we would have to pull it out for tough projects. I was pleasantly surprised at the power of this drill. We have done several projects with this drill and it is as powerful as the corded dril, haven’t had to pull the old one out yet.

NOT Made in America
Product is made IN CHINA, Charger made in China, Tool made in China, Batteries Made in "Japan, China, Singapore, Korea, or Malaysia" so basically a mixed bag whether or not your battery is going to explode on you. Shame on this company."Since 1985 Makita has produced products here in the U.S.A. at a facility just outside of Atlanta in Buford, Georgia. The Buford facility, officially titled the Makita Corporation of America (MCA), operates capital equipment for both manufacturing and assembly and produces Makita products destined for users and dealers across the U.S.A. and worldwide. To address continued growth here in America, Makita recently added nearly 1 million square feet of distribution and training center space with new facilities in Texas and Nevada. MCA is part of Makita’s global manufacturing network consisting of 10 factories in 8 different nations."This is false advertising!

Blinding LED major flaw!
After my 30 year old Makita cordless expired, both batteries finally stopped charging. I thought it would only make sense to replace with New Makita cordless, should last for the rest of my life. But...I was somewhat disappointed with this drill.Cons1. Two speed torque switch was very difficult to change from 1 to 2. It took too much force to switch. When I did switch it, it big defect was going to returning due to that.-After moving the with a few more attempts, it then did change gears, still difficult but works now However the worst issue is the LED light. It CAN NOT be DISABLED !!! So when you are looking at the chuck to change and lock bits it is literally blinding!!!! Way too bright -right into your eyes ! this light is hazardous it will temper bling you if looking at it! ( NOT FUNNY)Who thought this was a good idea? Did I get a defective drill of do users except this flaw? I don't get it?2. extremely heavy like sticking a car batterie at the bottom of the drill handle ( exaggerating for effectiveness of course)3 Charger light continuously blinks green when no battery is in. really annoying blinking . nothing worse then flashing lights on anything in stand by mode! Pros - Very powerfulSolid precise brushless motor and gears are very smooth sounding.Slow speed drilling is incredibly precise ( setting wood screws )more torque then any of my other cordless drill. in either gear or torque settings (probably more then ever necessary) -Bottom line: if a simple on/off switch was added to disable, aim or did the the damn blinding light it would be 5 stars.

Great quality is evident
Having used "inexpensive" drills and impact drivers for years using the Makita tools makes me realize that I have been cheating myself. This drill runs smoothly and has much better torque and power than any battery drill I have ever had. I have only used it a few times so I cannot comment on durability, however, I had one of those 9 volt cordless drill that Makita sold back in the 1980's (I think) and it lasted for many years and was only retired when batteries became so expensive. My advice....if you are buying your first set of cordless tools and must commit to one brand of batteries, choose Makita!
