Perfect for my yogurt making needs
I have a yogurt factory in my kitchen.Every 3 (or so) weeks, I head to my membership store and buy two one-gallon non- (not low) fat milk box and I'm in business when I get home (use whatever milk you want; it will work). With the help of my pressure cooker which has yogurt setting, I take a gallon of milk at a time (which I like to let get to room temperature before I start), cook it up to about 180 degrees, and let it cool to 95-110 degrees (I let it cool in water for about 15-20 minutes, whisking occasionally), introduce culture (which is two tablespoons whey mixed with two tablespoons of the cooled down milk [this needs to be at the achieved temperature]) from my last batch (it freezes, but I also use it all the time for rice, sauces, etc.) and let it stay at a low temperature (pre-determined on my cooker, but you can leave it in a cool oven with the light on for the same effect) for at least 8 hours, then refrigerate for about the same time and then strain, which is where these handy-dandy perfectly sized cheesecloth pieces come in.They fit perfectly it my homemade strainer (a colander placed over a large bowl) which I empty to (in the case of the non-fat milk) leave about 2 quarts of whey, which I put in a pitcher and pour as needed. The longer the strain, the thicker your yogurt (I like mine plaster-thick which is about 4 hours per side [I turn it – not necessary], obviously YMMV). I had been using cheesecloth from a roll of unbleached which I cut to about 20 inches lengths. They last forever, but these hemmed borders both serve well (I double line, but I'm going to try a single ply line, which may make the strain time shorter). I get to hang them after cleaning (rinse, then soak in your straining device with some baking soda and then soak in plain water) and pretend they are Bette Davis and Maggie Smith escaping detection in some Agatha Christie oldie or other and then roll them up in a sealed plastic bag for the next time around. These are terrific. If you haven't made your own yogurt (which is SOOOO easy) and you try this, you will NEVER eat store bought again, regardless of the alleged "authenticity" of whatever the label claims.

Hoping It Holds Up
I am hopeful that this eFond Cheesecloth, Precut 20x20Inch, Grade 100 Hemmed Cheese Cloth holds up to washing well. It seems very thin to me but I haven't used cheesecloth that much. Perhaps I had some rougher cheesecloth in the past and this is perfect!! I would never want to downgrade this cloth because it is the way it should be!! I'll continue using it and washing it to see if I am wrong and it is supposed to be this thin. I know it did strain the product very well and washed well the first time. I'll keep an eye on it and amend this review if I need to!! For now, I do recommend it!

Tight cheesecloth
This cheesecloth has a wonderful tight weave. The size is perfect for all of my needs as I am a budding cheese and yogurt maker. I also use it to flavor up my broths with large old bones that I don't want to worry about splintering. The cloths also wash fine and to keep shape I line dry them. There are no threads fraying or skipping and the seams are even. Looking for GOOD quality cheesecloth can be difficult and expensive but this is a good quality and fair price for long term use.
