Great
This for really good especially as my son is the only lefty in the family so it helps me to teach him in a way he feels comfortable.

Great fun while developing skills!
I've bought this book when my daughter started pre-school as they started to practice with the letters of their names. She really loved the different exercises as they come with stories of bugs or other animals and the kids seem to really get into them. For a good while she was looking forward for our "writing time" after dinner, and I can tell that she's much more confident about writing now; of course it's not just about the book but the time you spent with your children, but the book helped me to give some direction on where to work. It also explains how to handle the pencils, position the page, and many other tips.

buy good quality. Would suit 3-4 year old preschooler
The world must very confusing for lefties whereby the majority of writing books assume the child is right handed. There are some essential notes to parents on how to demonstrate pencil grip and to tilt the paper etc. The book begins with practicing lines, on the first few pages, and soon goes into forming letters. On each page various bugs are used to inspire the child. A bit expensive.buy good quality. Would suit 3-4 year old preschooler.

Good for encouraging reluctant left handed children to practise writing!
I'm not sure I agree with some of the other reviews. As a parent (and not a teacher) although these are just hand writing sheets actually I haven't been able to find anything else that helps my boy do this and actually keeps him interested. The directions for left handed children learning to write are really useful, they may seem like simple tips but I haven't been told this by anyone else (including my son's school!) and it has been helpful. Really like this book- it's school work which my son hasn't noticed is work!

Left handed workbook that works!
I used this book and book 2 over the summer after my son's teachers recommended him for OT on account of his lack of writing skills. The book was great. The tips on tilting the page were useful, the format of the book kept him engaged with activities to practice key shape formation as well as simply writing the letters of the alphabet over and over. Best of all, his teachers were amazed at how much his writing had improved over the summer. I wish that similar methods were used at school to help left handed children learn to write rather than them having to work it out for themselves.

Useful, but could be better.
I bought this because one of my sons is left-handed and myself and my husband are not. The tips about tilting the page, getting a special pencil etc were very helpful, as other reviewers have said, but the sheets themselves are not that different from any other (cheaper) book, except that they are bound at the top. That being said, my son's writing has really improved and I even took one of the recommended pencils to school so they could use one there. I am a primary school teacher and it has also helped me a little bit with left-handed children in the classroom.

A great book. The moment my six year old saw it, he wanted to write, this to me is magic, as it is normally quite a hard task. The arrows at the bottom of the page, to help line up where it should sit on the table are really helpful. He is keen to continue, so we are ordering the second book. I am pleased to at last find something that he responds well to.

Great product
Love the product - my 5 yr old is finally interested and motivated in learning to write and form her letters correctly. She is homeschooled so writing style in the book does not clash with writing style taught in the classroom. Her writing has improved since using the book and also by implementing the tips in the book for pencil hold and page direction. The glossy pages are also great as the pencil can be easily rubbed out and does not leave a mark - great for practicing.

Great advice
Almost every page also offers tips for parents about how to help a lefty learn how to write properly. My daughter likes to practice writing in this book since it is a "special" lefty book.

Riley Liked IT!
My granddaughter is very advanced in her studies, but her handwriting is awful. This work book was well below her learning level, but she thought it was fun. She has become interested in writing more clearly.
