So I got the black ones with the clear top. I have seen a lot of anecdotal, low score reviews recently about them arriving broken, being flimsy, etc. Mine came to me in one piece. The plastic they are made of seems fairly durable, somewhat pliable. Typical material for this type of storage container. As with most plastics though, if it is in below freezing temperatures it can and usually will become more brittle and is prone to cracking. The size is about perfect for my needs, it's slightly bigger than a standard cardboard "bankers box" for size reference. The "handles" are adequate for most weight you can put into these, certainly if you're just putting paper into them. If you're putting rocks into them, firstly, why? Secondly, they will not hold up to that weight. The lid sit's fairly sturdily in place, though not "locked" tightly, it closes into place with a tactile and audible click. I would say that you could get away with storing these stacked three or four high easily, and you wouldn't get any lid sagging or breakage, as long as you were only storing papers and not the aforementioned rocks. If I notice anything else or anything unexpected happens in the future I will update this review accordingly! I'd say buy with confidence, damage in shipping sometimes happens. They are definitely good value for cost IMO!

I think these are good value for the money - I am reorganizing all my files and want a uniform way to store them. I don't think they suitable for heavy duty use but for archiving and infrequent use they are fine and better priced than others. Been using for 2 years now.

Figured I would upload a pic to show that not every one of these sent out is cracked to hell and back. They made it through the trip for me that said, they feel a bit flimsy and im not sure just how much weight they could support if stacked on each other for instance. They are semi-opaque. I love that they are square up and down so you’re not losing space on the bottom like with most of these kinds of boxes. I have bought many other organizer boxes from Iris and they have held up. These are the largest ones I have bought, I’ll update over time if they either fall apart or pass the yeah of time. These look brand new, no dirt or scuffs or anything indicating they are used or returned.

These bins perfectly fit the Pendeflex hanging file folders I'm using to organize our family photos. As I scan them, I can sort them by year, event or other category to store safely and available for other potential use, (i.e., framing, scrapbooking, passing along to extended family) until such time as they are no longer needed.

3/4 boxes arrived completed cracked and shattered even with the shipping box completely in tact. They are stacked into one another with no barrier, and as it’s made of flimsy plastic it is bound to break. As they were covered by the lids, I sliced my hand pulling them out. This is completely unacceptable. Now I have to return them on my own after being injured and not having the product I paid for. Amazon makes it extremely difficult to contact the seller—when you select “Message Seller” their AI chat bot appears and redirects you to the homepage. Hello?!!! Don’t order this.

5-stars: the SIZE! It's perfect! Just a tiny bit larger than a Banker's Box -- and it's plastic instead of cardboard so it's more water resistant. ...BUT... 1-star quality. Thin plastic, corners of both boxes and lids crack easily during shipping. If you like the 4-pack and expect 4 working ones, buy two or three 4-packs with the plan to salvage 4 total good ones and return the other 8. They are great for storing things that aren't too heavy. Don't put books in them and try to stack them. If you're going to be using them to transport things, or stacking them, or putting heavier things in them, pass on these and just get the cardboard banker's boxes and/or heavier duty (and typically larger) plastic bins. It's a shame these are so delicate -- they have an otherwise universally useful size.

Perfect! :) I've been looking for something reasonably-priced that protects well and doesn't cost a fortune and THIS IS IT! Sturdy, well-made and fitted to work perfectly for both legal- and letter-size hanging file folders. The four-pack makes it a really fair deal! I'm thrilled with this purchase!

The box section are thick hard plastic, however the top is flimsy and comes off easily. Despite the lid I would still recommend this product.
