Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz Set Electric Guitar Electronics

I bought these to replace the original pickups on my Peavey T-60, which were the toaster type and sounded a little brittle. So I had read a few reviews and seen other T-60 guitars on YouTube that had Seymour Duncan humbuckers fitted, and thought I might do the same and see if it would improve the sound in any way. Well, it did...massively! Once I'd adjusted the height correctly, or distance from the strings. At first they sounded pretty awful and I thought "what the heck have I done!" But the I realised they were quite close to the strings and lowered them till they were about 3/16" to 1/4" away, and wow! It all the flexibility of the peavey t-60 volume and tone controls suddenly had become massively improved, transforming an already amazing guitar into an outstanding one. More power on tap than ever before, more crunch when needed, more clarity, increased tonal response. In short, anything from delicate detailed peaces, melodic blues to out and out heavy rock or metal I could get by setting up my amp to just one setting and by lowering or raising the guitar volume or tone knobs and switching from single coil to humbuckers on neck, bridge or both. Phew...!! That was tiring, anyway glad I got em and they have truly hotrodded my guitar. Huh, forget your les Paul's, tele's and strats. I have the lot in one guitar!!!!! Recommended? Yep!!!

I put these in an old Epiphone SG from the 90s - I hadn't realised how muddy the old pickups were until I put these in. Doing research, the best advice I saw was, if you don't know what pickups up to put in, put these in as you can't go wrong, and I think that is absolutely right as I don't have a lot of experience with other pickups. I used the Welsh radioshop youtube videos to set up the heights and pole pieces and am absolutely delighted with the sounds. Make sure your guitar electronics are nice and clean, and also maybe invest in a high quality guitar cable as it actually does make a sound difference with quality pickups like these. Also they may take a week to start sounding their best, but then you can get pretty much any rock, blues or jazz sound from them.

Bought myself a second-hand Ibanez S421 recently and was delighted with everything except the sound when plugged-in. After some careful research I committed myself to replacing the pickups with these beauties. Best thing I've done in years. The guitar now sounds and plays like an instrument costing 10 times what I paid for it. I am absolutely delighted with this set, the "JB" bridge pickup is nice and crisp and crunchy and the "Jazz" neck pickup has a lovely warm deep tone to it. I kept the original Ibanez 5-way switch, volume and tone pots and the upgrade was a good excuse to resolder all the connections in there as the factory wiring was a bit sad to say the least. I followed this diagram (http://i697.photobucket.com/albums/vv338/MadRaxz/SeymouronIBNZswitch.jpg) to the letter, bar putting the capacitor across the volume pot because a) I didn't have one and b) I'm still not sure what it's for but, everything still sounds fantastic without it so hey! Definitely recommend these and at this price you'd be mad to carry on with those cheap, stock pups

There are a load of aftermarket humbucking pickups around at varying prices all of them claiming to be the bees knees, I’ve tried many of them but I find that this Seymour Duncan hot rodded set gives me everything I need. The neck pickup is great for cool blues tones and clean chords while the bridge pickup is a rock monster when overdriving an amp. I have this set on a couple of SGs and they sound amazing, OK they cost more than many replacement pickups but the current Amazon price is the lowest I can find anywhere . Buy a set! It’s like having a new guitar.

Staggeringly good! Bought to upgrade an old (Stagg) PRS copy with great action and playability but weak tone range and PU output. Now sounds astonishing; having modified the original circuitry to 2 separate (switched 1-1-2) volumes and a single tone-pot I get a wide range of tones from "Tele-like" tooth-gratingly brittle to feather-bed soft with a "Gibson-esque" group of "plummy" sounds in between. Great value pickups, superbly matched.

I ordered this set from Amazon and twice they set only one pickup and not the set. In the end I bought elsewhere. Pineville music ARE NOT TO BLAME this is an Amazon error.

I'm not really sure it was worth £95, but still amazon gave me the best price available with extremely rapid delivery. Installation: There was a youtube video that pretty much walked me through the whole steps of changing it (but still the video wasn't perfect - out of focus or out of frame at important moments) and I'm sure the support would be good. Too many wires that didn't really concern me (had to deal with them through extra soldering etc.) - they could have brought out different lines for different types of guitar, but I guess the savings could have gone to us. It was quite hard to fix the springs into the screw of the bracket - the spring is huge compared to the screw and I spent twenty minutes trying to assemble the bracket. The sound: The sound is great (I think) - I can't remember what my guitar sounded like before but also because I used the opportunity to change out my strings - but the sound is still amazing.

Perfect condition. Arrived in sealed manufacturers box. Fast delivery too and at a great price. 5*** transaction. Will use seller again when required.

This came from Sweetwater, but they take way longer to deliver through their own site somehow. At any rate, I have these pickups in another guitar and they’re very different in this one. It’s become my number one thing right now. Great quality. The tone is so variable it’s totally different guitar with my swapping out of capacitors on the tone pots.

PRS S2はアメリカで生産しているのに、韓国製のピックアップを使っていたので、ダンカンに付け替えました。 PRSコアモデルでも、ダンカンに付け替える人もいますが、メインギターに使えるレベルだと思います。 でも私のメインギターは、Suhr Modernなので、PRS S2はクリーントーンメインで使っています。
