Rubie's Costume Grand Heritage Joker Classic TV Batman Circa 1966

We really love this costume! It's classic Joker... and looked awesome on both my son and husband! Only a hand-made costume would be better than this one!Sizing:My son is 5ft 7in tall and wears an extra large. The jacket and pants fit perfectly, (the pants have an elastic waist,) but the vest was a bit snug on him so I let the back of it out an inch or two so he could sit comfortably, (this was super easy to do, even for someone with no sewing experience.) The odd thing about the fit is that my husband is 6ft 2in tall and also wears an extra large, but the vest fit him perfectly, (the pants too.) Really my son could have worn it the way it was, but I just wanted it to be the right fit for him. The pants were a bit long on him, but not so bad that I needed to hem them. He wore them with a pair of shiny black dress shoes with thick soles and the pants didn't drag the ground or anything.Color:The suit is light purple, (see pics.) It is NOT pink. It's not a deep purple either though. I guess you'd say it's somewhere in between. If you'll look at pics of the 1960's Joker, (which is the style this suit is in,) that's the exact color you're getting here.Fabric:The fabric is nice and thick and the jacket and vest are lined with a shiny purple fabric of the same color. We really liked the fabric because it was hot outside on Halloween and the suit didn't make it worse. I did end up replacing the thin bow tie with a thicker piece of $1 black ribbon from Walmart and tied it the same way as it had been.The Undershirt & Vest:The vest is real, but the undershirt is just for looks, (see pics.) It's a half shirt with collar and bow tie and has no sleeves. You wear it under the vest and no one ever knows that it's not a full shirt because the sleeves of the "undershirt" are added at the end of the jackets sleeves to complete the illusion. You could easily replace the undershirt with a green dress shirt, but we were happy with the half-shirt that came with the suit because it didn't ad unnecessary bulk and warmth. I did use peel-and-stick velcro to secure the undershirt in place as it will shift with lots of movement, (you can see the white velcro I added in the pic of the vest/undershirt,) but again, that was a very easy fix that really didn't even have to be done. The vest is also secured at the front with velcro that you can't see. This is how it came from the factory, no alterations there.The Jacket:The outer jacket is nicely tailored, lined with shiny fabric, has three big black buttons and a long collar that is notched at the top. It fit both my boys just right and hung perfectly. This was actually surprising as my husbands jackets are usually too short because he's so tall and his back is quite long. The jacket also comes down long like "tails" in the back and it adds to the effect when viewed from the side or walking around, (see pics.) It really "made the suit" in my opinion.Extras:The costume also comes with two sets of nice fitting purple gloves (see them in the pic with pants,) they're hemmed on top and have white snaps along the wrists. We also bought an inexpensive Joker cane here on Amazon for $11 that matched the suit perfectly. Top that off with a $5 fake cigar, $2 POP gun, white face paint and green hair dye and you're ready for some fun!!! The suit also came with its own, thick plastic, side-zip suit cover with Rubies logo on the back which you will want to keep the suit in for storage.The Final Verdict:Bottom line, we've never had so much fun with a costume. My son wore it everywhere and plans to wear it many more times in the future! Order it a size bigger if you can, but it's easily adjusted if you can't. I thought about taking one star away because of the alterations I made, but we really could have gotten away with no alterations at all and still been very pleased. We got this suit at a HUGE discount too... It listed on Amazon and elsewhere for upwards of $200 for years, yet I got here for less than $100 on sale! That's a huge bargain for what you get in my opinion! Plus the suit is made by Rubies Costume Co. which has been in business longer than any other costume provider to date.

The only issue I have is that this runs a bit small. I purchased this for myself and I am a plus-sized women who had realistic expectations of this being a tad too small. I will make a few alterations.I will replace the ribbon/tie that is included as it is the stiff, floral ribbon and is extremely wrinkled. No problem.Aside from that; the costume is spot on! I would say the colors are true and depicted accurately.I am looking forward to Halloween, as usual, but this year we will KILL IT with our group costume!

Nice costume. However, size runs small. Husband is a size 44. Ordered recommended standard size and he couldn't get the vest even close to fitting. Due to time limits, we cut the back seam of the vest in order to be able to close the front. Worked fine as long as coat was on. No size problem with the coat. Husband's inseam is 29/30; and the pants fit fine -Elastic waist so can pull them up if too long.Nice detail on the costume. Buttons don't have button holes - but vest is pulled together by velcro - not a problem and easy to get on and off. Definitely worth ordering and keeping.

The product was missing the “cuffs” and “shirtfront with attached tie” as listed in the description on the packaging. For the price paid, I expect a complete costume.

Did not include vest like stated. very disappointed!! We bought this for a Halloween party and can not use or return. I would give ZERO stars if I could. Do not buy!!

And the joke was on me.I don't know whose idea of extra large this is but it's not even close. I've lost some weight recently and now wear large size shirts The coat and vest don't even come close. I didn't bother trying on the pants as there was no point.Pity because the quality is fine for the price.getting returned.

Fit was great, sad no pockets. Other than that it was awesome! A huge hit with friends.
