Our Troth is the single most comprehensive book available on the reborn religion of Heathenry -- the pre-Christian religion of the Germanic peoples. First published in 1993 but out of print for years, Our Troth is back in print, featuring updates and additions from its original compiler, Kveldulf Gundarsson, and from many other Heathen writers, all edited by well-known author Diana L. Paxson. Volume 2 covers the Heathen holy year, lore and rites for the major holidays, and ways to work Heathenry into every facet of life. It includes an extensive glossary and reading list for further study. Review: Essential reading for Asatruar - As the title says if you are a follower of Asatru (known by many other names including heathenry and paganism) then this is a great book to read. Book 1 of this series is great for knowledge of the gods and goddesses and the history of heathenry in Northern Europe. This books is a great reference piece for living the Asatru way in modern times. Contains tips on writing your own blots as well as some already written out. Also lists the major holidays any follower of Asatru should know as well as smaller ones that some groups honor as well. Also contains sections birth, death, man/woman making and even marriage. For anyone interested in modern heathenry this is a great book to learn about it or for those already involved this is a good supplement to existing knowledge. The only thing I found annoying was the pronunciation guide for the letters we don't typically see in modern english was buried at the back of the book where it was a bit harder to get to but that is kind of a preference thing really. Review: A "go to" book like the first - Vol 2 is just as usable as the first volume. My only complaint is a hardcover version was not available but it's an easy remedy. The books can be re-enforced later for the sake of preservation. These books are easy to study and easy to read which makes the learning process fast and painless. LOL If you're looking to study the old ways and plug it in to your daily life..this is a great book to look through.

Great book
If you want to understand the practice of Asatru this book as well as the first volume are where you want to begin. I read a bunch of other books on Asatru before reading Our Troth. I would recommend skipping to Out Troth. I just want to make a comment on that Pedophile review. The guys off his rocker. But don't just take my word for it, buy the book and decide for yourself. I could see pedophiles being attracted to Christianity because the religion is full of patriarchal authorities that can easily abuse the trust placed in them to commit crimes. Asatru is not setup in this manner and so they would not benefit from coming to Asatru. There is no acceptance of pedophilia in Asatru. Members of this faith also have a more severe outlook on betrayal than Christianity.

What an incredible resource
I waited for a long time for this book to come out in print again and the wait was definitely worth it. There's so much information in this book about Heathenism and it's very readable. For those on the Heathen Path or just very interested, this is a must have book.

Any thing you want to know maybe in the troth
Nicely written well worth the money you may spend some time sounding out some of the words and time writing down what path you may want to follow

The book you have been looking for.
Tons of info. It is a book you will refer back to many, many times. A wealth of history and knowledge from some of the forefathers/mothers of the northern heathen practices.

Meets Expectations
Had the types of information I was looking for; a variety of authors contributed, and definitely you don't get gypped on the size of the book.

Absolutely a must!
Anything written or compiled by The troth is totally reliable and extensive. In this volume you will find everything on rituals, and basically, a fresh view of daily life regarding the heathen varieties of the Northern European ancestral religion.

... can dip in and out of and learn something useful and practical each time
This is a book you can dip in and out of and learn something useful and practical each time. There are personal experiences and perspectives in both this and volume one which are great to read too. This book is well researched with a bibliography that means you can study further if you want to. Most importantly, this and volume 1 are universalist in their approach. Recommended for both new and experienced norse pagans/ heathens/ asatruar.

Educational, just don’t care about your lefty agenda you constantly push
Just like the volume 1, it’s great for history lessons but I think they need to keep their personal/political views out of it. No one cares that you’re not racist or promote gay marriage, just stick to what the books about. The second part of this book (just like the second part of volume 1) is great

Great resource on the practical side of Heathenry
Very useful book for people who are interested in learning about the various more practical aspects of modern Heathenry. A must-have for solitary Heathen.
