Great tin opener
I bought this because I was beginning to struggle with the conventional tin opener, due to arthitic joints in fingers and less strength in hands etc. How fortuitous because, interestingly enough, soon after buying this, I had a serious shoulder injury meaning I could do little with left hand/arm for some time. Thank goodness for this little gem.At first, I thought it was rather slow going round the tin and I didn't know when it had finished but I soon learnt to listen for the (slight) change in sound. The lid rarely lifts off using the magnet so I usually have to manually lift the lid from the tin but I don't mind that at all. As for it being slow to circle the tin, it means I can set the opener going, then go to fridge to fetch bits needed and tin is opened by then so can switch it off.I love this little gadget. It's certainly saved me a lot of struggling. As yet, I haven't needed to change batteries but the batteries will then get 're-used' in my computer mouse where any remaining charge will get well used, if any charge left, of course - I've yet to see! ;)Definitely recommend

An Excellent Device That Works Well.
I had muscle condition in my arms that meant I wasn’t strong enough to operate my traditional tin opener nor was I able to open a ring pull tin. This opener was a real boon even for the ring pull tins as most have a normal rim on the bottom which the opener deals with easily. My arms are now back to normal fortunately but I have continued to use it as it is so useful. It leaves no sharp edges which is a big, big benefit and the top can be used as a “lid” for storing leftovers or when heating the contents in the oven.My only criticism is the grotty range of colours, not bad enough to knock of a star though.I would recommend this opener unreservedly.

Lasted 2022 to 2024
I purchased in May 22 and it failed to work in October 24.It no longer engages with the tin to cut lid off. On inspection the element that engages with tin is worn out.I will say as a one handed person it’s a good bit of kit. Currently, until I purchase a new one I am using the good old British army manual tin opener that can also be used one handed.Probably by another electric one as although a little noisy is certainly less messy.

Excellent product for a disabled person
This is an easy item for someone like me who only has the practical use of one hand. The magnetic button just attaches itself to the side of the tin & it is opened very easily, leaving no sharp edges. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but I wouldn't be without it now.

Like having your tin eyes opened for the first time to the can opening revolution it constitutes
Holy ****! How have I survived most of my adult life without this? One of my major nemesis ever since I had to start opening cans by myself has been the Titanomachy that is food cans vs regular can openers. From turning handle ones where you complete a full turn to find out that, at most, it has left a decorative groove, to the repeated lid stabbing ones where, at the end, your fingers are either numb from you driving all the blood away from them or you feel like you should get a referral from your MD for physiotherapy to at least prevent lifetime consequences from the damage it has incurred during that exercise. None could simply defeat the foe that are food cans, actually making me think why the police forces don't just use layers of them as bullet shields. All this without even taking into account the wonderful potential for bodily hurt that the edges left behind are, like a bear trap in waiting. But no more. This product has come into my life and it makes can opening so different from tradicional high-tech can opening technology that, the first time I used it, I actually thought that it was just a bloody bust as the top was not open at all. And then, looking at the can, the revelation came in the same fashion as one of the prisoner's leaving Plato's allegorical cave. This thing actually cuts the side of the can, completely ignoring the top side. The result? A perfectly safe LID (I can't enphasise this too much!!! A LID!!) that perfectly fits the can...There are no words that can convey how ecstatic I was when this hit me.If you're like me, looking at the pics below will be accompanied in your mind with the sounds of heavenly trumpets and harps.I can just imagine the potential for toy cars with tin can lid wheels that have no dents in them, cars that, when played with, not only don't have extra bumpy ride characteristics but also won't cut off finger tips of distracted children who get run over with them.

Expensive paperweight
Start off well, but the stopped working after I was able to return it.The cutter got stuck on a tin and when removed, it would not attach back onto any other tin. An expensive tin opener, now used as a paperweight.

Stopped working after 10 months.
This tin opener worked very well for 10 months only. This was very disappointing because it worked very well and it was comfy to use. I decided to write this review after 10 months to let potential buyers be aware.
