AMD AD740KYBJABOX A-Series A6-7400K with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

Very nippy little processor, especially in the light of my old Intel E6300 Core Duo, but perhaps that is not really a fair comparison!Onboard GPU also a nice bonus, no extra cards getting in the way, or noisy graphics fans.Frankly, the performance is quite remarkable at this price point.I set this up on an Asus A88X-PRO motherboard with 8GB of Hyper X Beast memory rated at 2400MHz, but dropped down to 1866MHz to match the processor. (See reviews elsewhere)Apart from the memory speed alteration, the motherboard was set to "Auto" with no deliberate overclocking, and despite the processor rating of 3.5GHZ standard, 3.9GHz Turbo, it ran at 4.1GHz "out of the box" (still does), and has never exceeded a temperature of 41C on the standard fan, with no evidence of stress or instability.Like some others, I bought this as a budget processor, with thoughts of perhaps upgrading it later (hence the motherboard and memory choice), but on the basis of this performance I shall probably be keeping it for a while yet and have a play with some of the motherboard overclocking settings.Unless you are into some seriously heavy gaming, number crunching, CAD or video editing, you will not be disappointed.Buy one! Almost forgot-(doing this a lot lately-must be an age thing). In my case the GPU initially showed as a "Standard VGA Adapter" and some programmes reported "Hardware Acceleration not Enabled". To overcome this I went on to the AMD site and downloaded the latest graphics drivers(Catalyst suite).It will ask you whether you have a GPU or APU and ask you to put in the model number-it's all very straightforward. It will then direct you to the appropriate version to download.This solved my problems, and the screen image certainly also seems a little crisper.

If you're building a low cost PC for light duty work these AMD CPUs are ridiculous value. I paired this with an MSI A68HM Grenade board and it is running a triple monitor system. There is one 4K monitor at 3840x2160 and two 1080P monitors at 1920x1080. What more could you ask of a CPU and motherboard combination that costs less than £70.

I wanted a 6 core compute processor. I got a duel core compute processor with 4 graphics cores built in. I should have done my research it will be used in a micro PC as it is useless for the build i wanted it for.

We have used this with a new motherboard in our family pc, also as it has built in graphics that was a bonus, the difference is incredible, we did have a dual core athlon and this chip makes me realise how slow is actually was. A good cheap upgrade so long as you dont do heavy gaming, saying that the kids are using sims3 with one expansion pack and it runs well so turned out to be better than i thought.

It's a little warm and I would recommend not using the supplied cooler, however for the price and for an office based pc it absolutely excellent and will not struggle with any day to day or light to medium creative tasks such as photoshop or illustrator etc. For this price point it far outshines Intel's offerings.

Excellent little APU for my 6 year old's minecraft / goat simulator / movies desktop. I will probably upgrade it to the A10-series at some point when he's older.
