I love the way this hat looks and feels. I'm 46 and this is the first hat I ever bought. My increasingly exposed pate requires protection from the Colorado solar rays. I found that seeing hats on actual people helped me immensely in making my buying decision. So, take a peek at the hat pics and try to ignore my ugly mug. I was worried that the hat would be too tall for my liking, but it isn't. My head (size XL) fits in it perfectly. A shorter hat may have looked weird on me. So, kudos to the wife for the good advice.The hat is made from what I consider to be finely finished, beautiful leather. It is very sturdy and should hold up well to the elements. One of the selling points for me was that the braid is not glued on in a cheap manner. As one can see, it is buckled on and is of the same quality as the hat.I find it hard to believe that anyone would want to crush this hat. What is the point of that? I love the shape and I hope it tends to hold it. I won't be crushing it anytime soon.I hope my review and the pics help give you comfort if you want to buy this hat. Buy with confidence.

When I received mine it was the wrong size, which admittedly was my own fault. Amazon was the broker of the sale for a third party, so I had to do a return/ repurchase. Unfortunately the third party was already sold out of the Brown when I went to reorder. However since there was a long delay due to my prime account waiting for my gift card balance return, the third party offered me the Black one at an even greater discount. I was a little disappointed, but took them up on their offer. After a few days, it finally came. Pulled it out of the box, put it on my head. 100% satisfied! I never knew how brimmed hats were supposed too feel till I wore this one and I own several, with this being my first leather hat. It's more comfortable than a baseball cap or a beanie. Very thick leather, nice stitching and will last for years to come. I will definitely be buying another in Brown soon.

Waterproof, which is perfect for rain or snow. Fits decent, maybe slightly big (or maybe I should’ve got the next size down since I like a more snug-fitting hat, so can’t fault that). Good quality. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous hate. I love love love it. My only issue is it is ever so slightly smaller than I would like, which makes it sit slightly higher on my head unless I pull it down. My head measured slightly under 22" in diameter so I figured that medium would be fine per the sizing chart, but I should have gone for the large, it seems. Perhaps it is supposed to be a hat that fits so that it sits higher on your head, though? Anyhow, either way, great hat for the money! I figure I will just stretch it out a bit by wearing it :-) Thanks for the AWESOME hat!

I love the style and fits great, but it's very thin and flimsy. I consider more of a summer hat. I ordered because my friend has a BC hat and was disappointed in the thickness. Perhaps, it's because they say it's a "Pac Traveller," which means it's collapsable and easy to pack. I have two of them and the style fits nicely.

I bought this hat to go hiking and take various trips with. It looks great and it does it’s job very well, keeping rain off your head (if you treat it with something like Obenauf’s leather conditioner, it does so even better), keeps your head warm, and just feels of quality craftsmanship. It may be a little warm for summers in the south, but it’s great for the cooler months. I would definitely recommend purchasing this hat if you are on the fence, it’s worth it.

The stitching was unraveling so it has to be repaired

So, this hat was a replacement for a cheap leather/composite hat I’d been wearing for years. I’m generally cautious about buying hats online because there’s a lot you can’t tell from a photo. In this case, it worked out well. Measured my melon with a tailor tape and bought according to the chart. What I got was not quite what I expected but I love it. I am entirely bald and I often have a red stripe around my head from hats that fit firmly. While this hat won’t blow away, the way that it fits doesn’t cause that. Six hours on the trail and you would never guess I just took off a hat (unless it’s hot out - see below). It’s also very warm. Not for 80 degree days but I’m excited for Autumn. They’re not kidding about the crushable bit. No need to be precious with this thing; it pops right back. Only compliant is that it’s pretty impermeable. Sweat collected on top of my head while hiking and when I took off the hat... well, it was a little gross. If you have hair, probably not an issue. I recommend this hat.
