Q: How do I take the the top and bottom connectors off?

To remove the top connectora completely - the top connector comes out at an angle, not straight up and down. Remove the bottom connector, then gently twist the panels while pulling the top connector off, and as long as you don't twist too hard as to break it, there is a "sweet spot" where the top connector just slides out. Easy to practice when you have the top connector just attached to 1 gate panel.
