I was making furniture my senior year in high school to take to the college dorm. I could not afford a pocket jig so I built one with scrap metal. It was crude but it worked well. I had to use a wood clamp to secure the joining pieces.This jig is GREAT. The joints are tighter than what I could accomplish using my homemade jig.The jig.is.easy to use and the clamp Hoda the pieces in place to accept the pocket screws.

I have been building furniture and shelving for my wife for many years. I have used another brand of pocket hole jigs that has served me well. I decided to give this jig a try. My first impression is that this is a heavy duty jig. The main parts are made of metal with softer rubber for the ends of the clamps. The lever action is great for achieving tight contact with the material. The jig is easily adjustable to accommodate different thicknesses of wood. There are a handful of screws and plugs included, but you will need to purchase more for most projects.The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars is the maneuverability. If I need to have a long shelf board laying flat, it is difficult to attach this jig in a way that is easy for me to drill pocket holes. This jig is better suited to a bench-mount application. I will use this in conjunction with my other pocket hole jig to achieve the best balance of fixed and portable drilling jigs.
