Product Description Pest-Stop's Fumite Insect Killer is an easy to use smoke generating fumer, which fills a confined area such as a bedroom, roof spaces or storage closet with fumes in order to extinguish insect activity. Ideal for treating against insects such as cockroaches, bed bugs, fleas, ants or mites in inaccessible areas - even inside machinery. The fumer is ready to use - simply place on a fireproof base, light the fuse in the fumer and let it get to work. It will create a powerful smoking effect to cover as much area as possible and will fill a room over two hours. The smoke is non-tainting and leaves no residual odours, meaning it is as unobtrusive as possible. We recommend that you use a single unit for 120 square metres against flying insects, 30 square metres against fleas and bed bugs, or 7.5 square metres against ants. Simple and effective for a small shed wasps nest
I ordered this product as I needed a permethrin smoke bomb quickly and this was the only one I could find on Prime for next day delivery. It was for a melon-sized wasps nest in a small shed and it worked perfectly.I was able to place it just inside the door on an old baking tray (the instructions say you should place on a fireproof surface), light it, seal the door and watch through a window. There was quite a lot of smoke generated and within a couple of hours all the wasps were dead at which point I could open the door to air it out and then remove the nest and corpses. One thing to note is that the wasps inside the nest were still alive but barely (just wriggling around) and some standard Raid wasp spray finished those off quickly. All in all seemed quite simple but my wasps didn't seem very aggressive and I think it may have been a different story if they were.

Four Stars
Worked well for small rooms, did not seem to smoke as well as other products of this type.

Don't bother
Don't bother with this more of a gimmick than a bug destroyer. I have used others with far more effect, I lit the touch paper it sparkled like a firework (why) & more of a fire hazard which others don't out after a few seconds and I tried to light it again. Smoke lasted for seconds. Waste of money.

Completely cleared fly infestation in loft
Very effective, produced lots of smoke shortly after lighting (I think some of the reviews here suggesting that smoke only seeped out for a few seconds must have involved defect items). Used two of them simultaneously to completely clear up an infestation of flies in the loft of a newly purchased house.

ok but not too powerful
this is a bit limp.... You get the little plastic container (used to come with a metal tin surrounding it) and place on a stable, flat surface (I use the base of my wheelbarrow) and use a long necked lighter to light it and then just leave it to smoke awhile. In theory it should kill all known bugs dead, but when applied to a shed (a small shed, mind, just enough space in there for three wheelbarrows side by side) it slaughtered woodlice and flies, killed dead three small spiders, but the big chaps just seemed to cough a little and get on with life....I would suggest for larger areas that you use more than one at the same time.

Works on wasp nests
Used this at night to kill a football sized accessible wasp nest in a garage loft. Sprayed the only entrance with Rentokil wasp nest foam destroyer as well. Didn't need a repeat application as there were no more wasps afterwards. No stings either

It kills wasps.
I like how small the packaging is so that if you wanted to buy multiple to use at a later date, it doesn't take up much space, I only bought one for my shed as we had a wasp nest, it seemed to work and I never seen any wasps alive for a couple of weeks, but now they are going about again.

Fly Be-Gone
I was a little concerned given the mixed reviews, however I had an infestation of flies in my loft. I mean 1000's just chilling for the winter.I set two of these off and ran for the hills and left it for a couple of day's. I could not find a single one alive in the loft, some had escaped into our velux window vents, but these buggered off as soon as I opened the windows, other than this they where all gone :-)One word of caution, make sure you use a metal tin or something that is taller than these as the initial lighting does through some sparks out.
