“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” takes us to a new era of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away.Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything,” “The Danish Girl”) stars in the central role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters. There are growing dangers in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets, threatening to expose the wizarding community to the No-Majs (American for Muggles), including the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction bent on eradicating them and the powerful, dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, after wreaking havoc in Europe, has slipped away…and is now nowhere to be found. Unaware of the rising tensions, Newt Scamander arrives in the city nearing the end of a global excursion to research and rescue magical creatures, some of which are safeguarded in the magical hidden dimensions of his deceptively nondescript leather case. But potential disaster strikes when unsuspecting No-Maj Jacob Kowalski inadvertently lets some of Newt’s beasts loose in a city already on edge—a serious breach of the Statute of Secrecy that former Auror Tina Goldstein jumps on, seeing her chance to regain her post as an investigator. However, things take an ominous turn when Percival Graves, the enigmatic Director of Magical Security at MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), casts his suspicions on both Newt…and Tina. Now allied, Newt and Tina, together with Tina’s sister, Queenie, and their new No-Maj friend, Jacob, form a band of unlikely heroes, who must recover Newt’s missing beasts before they come to harm. But the stakes are higher than these four outsiders—now branded fugitives—ever imagined, as their mission puts them on a collision course with dark forces that could push the wizarding and No-Maj worlds to the brink of war.Special Features:Characters: The Magizoologist-A wizard who is more comfortable with beasts than he is with other human beings. Cast and crew discuss Newt's character, costume and journey in the film.Creatures: Meet the Fantastic Beasts-Venture into the magical world of beasts and the creative team behind them.

Fantastic graphics and special effects
I ordered the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them DVD as always been a fan of Harry Potter so thought this would make a great addition to my collection. Although the characters differ from the original films, I thought the plot, acting, graphics and special effects were engaging and detailed enough to want to watch the film over and over again as easy to miss things. This is not as dark as some of the Harry Potter movies and has several humourous moments with the beasts doing what fantastic magical beasts do. Basing most of the film in the USA obviously targets an American market but that doesn't detract from the film which is now installed on my tablet so I can indulge in a bit of magical fantasy time whenever and wherever I am!

GOOD!
when i first went booked the tickets i was a little sceptical about it, wondering will i like it or not, i wasn't sure, but i went in to the IMAX with an open mind trying to disconnect myself from the whole harry potter world and i loved harry potter tremendously. At first i was like oh no, its set in New York. its mostly American actors, which i wasn't really happy about because harry potter was full of British actors, i guess i was a little bitter of letting go of that fact. don't get me wrong i have nothing against Americans, but the harry potter film was full of British actors, so i just couldn't get my mind around it. then we have newt, who is the only British main character, i mean i liked newt he had this geeky charm, quite awkward and quirky. the thing is he played a great part in the movie, he mumbles a lot but still he was brilliant, i did enjoy the movie, the special effects, the story line, the only reason i have given it 4 stars is because i didn't like it set in an American theme, sorry but i didn't like how USA it got they should have kept it very British. out of everything i tried to disconnect from the harry potter world i couldn't let that one go its pathetic i know, but just what i thought, over all fantastic movie i recommend you go see it or buy it when its out on DVD and Blu-ray :)

Oh this was FUN!! My daughter read all the Harry Potter ...
Oh this was FUN!! My daughter read all the Harry Potter books when they were published, and I had never read them until a few years ago. Then one Christmas she decided she wanted to see the movies, having avoided them for years in case they spoiled her memories of the books. So I decided to read all the books myself, and then together we binge-watched the movies one and had a wonderful time. You get so much into the world of Harry Potter. So we were both really looking forward to seeing this movie, and we were not disappointed - it was really great and reminded us why we loved Potter so much - so we watched all the other films over again too. Magic - you can never get too old to enjoy it can you! Can't wait for thext one to be released.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them
I saw this film at the cinema and loved it, so I purchased this DVD, without giving too much away!! it is a mythical wizardry adventure starring many famous faces including Johnny Depp, Eddy Redmayne, John Voight just to name a few! It is set in the 1920`s way before the Harry Potter collection and has an array of different creatures and stories. You meet many different people, and there are many twists and turns along the way with a bit of sadness and comedy too! If you loved the Harry Potter collection? You will love this film. Those of you who are avid SCI-FI fans you will also find this to be a brilliant watch! What are you all waiting for, just buy it and enjoy?!! @:0)

Once upon a time in New York
JK Rowling’s imagination runs riot in this marvelously entertaining and exhilarating fantastical fable set within her hocus-pocus Harry Potter universe. Into the bustling jazz-age wizarding world of New York in the 1920s Eddie Redmayne’s shy and bumbling magizoologist Newt Scamander disembarks carrying a Tardis-like leather briefcase containing a menagerie of extraordinary creatures which are accidentally let loose in a city rife with fear and paranoia. With the assistance of a John Candy-esque No-Maj (Muggle) and two feisty and resourceful young witches Newt attempts to round-up his outlandish possessions while endeavoring to maintain a low profile. Unfortunately, inevitable complications arise and Newt finds himself slap-bang in the middle of a struggle between sinister forces. However, despite some darker moments the tone of the movie is much more upbeat than the latter Harry Potter films with the special effects, cinematography and lush musical score effectively contributing to producing a frenetically energetic and bewitchingly enjoyable two and a half hours, laced with romance and good natured humour. For devout aficionados there are countless minute details which nod to the previous films, but this is a movie which undoubtedly stands on its own and is an impressive forerunner to other movies in the making. I will be watching this again.
