Professional Large Microwave Kiln for Glass Fusing

Very good kiln. The glass that comes with it as with most online kilns is not very good but it’s worth getting the kiln and binning the glass. Recommended

It works just as it should, but the inside is approximately 12 cm instead of 13.5 cm in the description

I am lead to believe that all microwave kilns are made in the same place, so I don't think it's a problem specifically with this seller.I've only just used this kiln for the first time and have missed my return window. The coating inside is very uneven and I can even see a tiny bit of white where it has no coating at all. I had a piece of glass that needed a second firing, so I thought it was the perfect test for my new kiln. It heated extremely uneven, even though I turned the kiln lid a quarter turn every couple of minutes and I use a turntable. The final piece was full fused in some areas and still no further than tack fused in other places. My only option is to either sell this at a very reduced price for someone to re coat, or try to re coat it myself. I'm very disappointed in the sort return window when I've only just got round to using it.

Good product and value for money

I have now purchased 4 of these kilns and think they are amazing. I now make fused glass pieces with a craft group and we all love these kilns and how effectively they fuse the glass pieces. The surface to place items is the size of a small round coaster.I use the kilns with a 700 watt microwave set on high and to fire 4 pieces of jewellery takes between 18-21 mins. If using copper foil I set the microwave at med/high and it takes approx 24 mins. Very happy to recommend the product and seller.

I've had a few microwave kilns and have been experimenting with a number of different designs etc. I say this to show I have experience of other microwave kilns. My previous kilns were always cool to touch even when the insides were a glowing white hot glass. I was very surprised to find these were not cool at all and actually needed heavy duty gloves to wear just to check on the items inside. When I took the kilns out of my microwave I noticed there was a black smoke fume stain leaking from the inside. Further investigations showed that the kilns displayed a white hot glow from between the edges of the 2 pieces. These also give off a bad smell. My other kilns do not do this even when i repeat the experiment precisely with these. So I am very concerned about continuing to use these and am now contacting the supplier about this.

Happy with it

I could not get the kiln heat beyond getting the glass to glow red, it would not go any further than this point for me. I had them in an 800w microwave for 20 minutes! At this point the cost outweighs the purpose. Returned to swap for a smaller one.
