Very good sharpening action for dress making scissors

The sharpeners work really well they sharpened a pair of scissors that I had ruined by trying to sharpen them with a knife sharpener. I haven’t given 5 stars because you have work out how to use the sharpener yourself.

The item does not come with instructions, so if you're not sure, you'll have to go online. It is smaller than I thought and it seemed to make some blunt scissors slightly sharper. Time will tell if it really works. It's handy for my sewing box though.

I recently completely and utterly ruined my Fiskars scissors by stupidly trying to use a knife sharpener on them. Big mistake! They went from about 90% of their original sharpness to zero - and I mean zero. Unable to cut AT ALL. I contemplated buying another pair of Fiskar scissors but came across their own brand scissor sharpener. At a reasonable price, I thought it was worth a go…it’s restored my scissors to their previous level of sharpness, saving me the cost of buying more. I’ve sharpened all my kitchen scissors too. One thing I’d say is to put the tips of the blades into the slits on the sharpener, then draw the sharpener along the blade towards the handle - as you do this, the blades move apart to their widest open profile. Do this several times, then turn the scissors up the other way and repeat. Excellent product.

I purchased a Shear & Scissor Sharpener(Multisharp 1401) some time ago on amazon & was highly impressed by its sharpening ability. I then stumbled across the Fiskar product scissor sharpener, to look at you would think there the same in principle i.e. run scissors through to sharpen & was delighted the item could be placed into pocket. The only thing good about the Fiskar scissor sharpener the fact that it can easily fit into your pocket + can easily be returned as it is so small. Hugely disappointed by this item & Fiskar, I will never buy a fiskar product again, bought two of these returning one as unopened would like to had returned the two but lost packaging for the one opened & tested. Did a tissue cut on a bevelled pair of scissors which were dull used the Fiskar sharpener & noticed the white element (sharpener) was shredding, tried the test again & low and behold the scissors were still dull. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, try the Shear & Scissor Sharpener(Multisharp 1401) this works a treat but is a little bit on the large size for your pocket about 5 inches long.

Keeping small scissors sharp has always been a problem with me. Past efforts to sharpen them usually end with them being even more blunt. I received this little sharpener on the last specified delivery date (not sure why it's described as "stainless steel" when it's a ceramic rod held in a plastic case?). Very small size means it can easily fit in an EDC pack.

Acheté en remplacement du précédent et ses 30 années de bons et loyaux services. Nouveau modèle bien plus ergonomique avec des barres céramiques encore meilleures, mes ciseaux fiskars coupent encore mieux qu'à leur achat !
