Cica-Care Gel Sheet 12cm x 6cm Sheet Effective Scar Treatment

I bought the sheet version after my doctor recommended it.I have used it for 4 weeks solidly on 3 newly healed keyhole scars & they are now completely flat, with no redness, so much so, they have virtually disappeared. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.Previously, a scar became raised, red and irritated, in a similar area of skin, and I wish I'd know about these sheets before as I'm sure I would have avoided the discomfort. I'm a good healer & don't develop keloid scars but these sheets still markedly reduce the appearance of post surgery scars for me.A few tips.Firstly, keep the backing sheets so you can store the hell sheets if you don't want to wear then for a bit.Secondly, I only removed them once a day for washing, to no ill effect - the less you handle the sheets the better as they will tear.I found them fine to wear in he shower or swimming but they do come off at night time if you don't protect them.Once they roll up on themselves, they are hard to unravel without tearing them, so do protect the sheets whilst wearing from rubbing & perhaps leave off at night & use another product like Dermatix.

Adheres the best out of every other brand I've tried and most importantly, it works. I had an appendectomy 4 months ago and was left with 3 scars. Two small ones, about 1/4 of an inch long each and an bigger one, just over an inch long. 3 weeks after the operation I started using Cica-Care on the larger one, for 20+ hours a day and for nearly 3 months. I used nothing on one of the other scars and a liquid silicone gel on the last one. The Cica-Care one is now completely smooth & flat (although still a bit discolored). The one I use the silicone gel on it slightly raised (and discolored) and the third one I put nothing on, has an indentation/is lower than the skin surface (and discolored). I'm very happy with the results as I usually get raised scars and discolor badly. Like with any silicone patch, you need to wear this 20+ hours a day and for at least 2 months. I just reordered another sheet that will hopefully minimize the discoloration further.

I don't know another product like this and I am surprised to find that when I mention it to staff in my GP's practice they don't seem to have heard of it. Also pharmacies have it in their books but don't stock it or know what it does.Around the turn of the century I broke my leg and had a titanium rod inserted in my lower leg leaving a scar on my knee cap where it went in. I used this on the scar and it soon became invisible and no longer 'tight' when the knee flexed. All it does is keep the scar moist when first healing, no drugs involved. A friend broke her wrist and on my advice used the gel and the scar soon healed.My wife had a melanoma removed and then some more skin from the surrounding area as a precaution. Now, a month later after using Cica Care the scar is no longer an angry colour but is fading back to the colour of the surrounding skin.

Having read previous reviews I knew what to expect. Two years after my daughter burnt her legs, her skin was still rough and tender. She was recommended by a physio to purchase silicone gel sheets. Having used these Cica-Care sheets for approx 3 weeks, the appearance of the skin shows signs of definite improvement. She has experienced the red rash and itchiness if she wears the pads for too long during the course of the day, and in these cases she leaves the pad off for the day. We are hoping that after 6 months her legs will look much smoother, and less red. However she still has a bad reaction when showering - I dont know if the silicone pads will address this.However I had deducted "stars" because after just three weeks, the pads look decidedly the worse for wear, and they no longer adhere to the skin - she has to tape them in place. I feel this is not really acceptable when I believe the product should be lasting 6 months.

So good! I had surgery 1st june, 2 incision sites. I have scar prone skin that gets red and angry and lumpy, especially if irritated further, which I was worried about from clothing rubbing etc. As soon as my incisions were healed enough Ive been wearing this brand (also tried one other but prefer this one) pretty much every day and my scars are amazing, not red at all and not raised. I wish I knew about this product sooner. If youre worried about things rubbing on your scars then this brand is nice and thick and I feel secure when wearing it. I also love you can cut it to exactly the size you need and its reusable! I take them off each time I shower and gently clean with just water, then leave them on the side to dry off while I wash, and reapply once Im dry. They last AGES if you look after them right. Definitely worth the price tag.

So I got this a week ago. I've been wearing it for the whole week, every hour of it. Adhesive was decent for the first 5ish days but they're now just not sticking as much, it's peeling off and falling off. No results, can't see any difference and honestly not sure how it would give any difference anyway but wanted to give it a go. It was also a bit small for the price. I was trying this out for stretch marks. I have seen you're meant to try wear this for 3 months but since the adhesive is wearing off I don't even think this is possible and if I'm wearing it for a total of 168 hours I kind of expected some results at least since some people only wore it for 8 hours a day or only at night. So the amount of hours I wore was over twice that but still no result.Update: completely unusable after the first half of the review, no longer sticks at all, constant curl and fall off and also no difference noticed.
