Review: Good for cutting wire insulation - It's an interesting blade. These are sharp. Sharp enough to accidentally cut skin, but less so than other metal knife cutters I have. I tried these to cut the insulation off wire and found I could hold and cut the insulation but not cut my skin. This is something I wouldn't dare do with a regular knife blade. These also didn't seem to knick the copper wires under the insulation. Both being able to hold the wire, and not cut the copper is really handy though for how I tend to work. They seem to cut cardboard and tape just fine. And they would be safer than a metal box cutter. Tape doesn't seem to stick to the ceramic blade as much. I'll still be careful with these, but they fit a niche between extremely sharp and sharp enough to do the job. An extra blade is included and it can be stored in the handle by pulling off the butt-end, and pushing it under the installed blade. The body is made of metal and feels very sturdy, unlike some other products that are wobbly. The ceramic blade is very sharp. it cuts through the thick plastic with ease. It says it won't cut the finger. It didn't cut when I touch it gently but I wouldn't try to slide the blade over my finger or press hard on it. I am sure it will hurt and break the skin. But then why would anyone want to do that!? This is a great product that I would recommend.
