Stanley 083100 Band-Clamp 4.5m/15ft

At first seemed like a good item for the money however I have used it three times and for some reason no longer functions i.e. No longer tensions up. Even though it seems sturdy and the handle was not over tightened the thread is damaged and item is no longer usable.

After reading some positive reviews I decided to buy this in order to glue the mortice & tenon joints on a small stool. After a load of faffing with the corner clamps, which kept falling off, I finally got everything into position. As soon as some tension was applied the central bracket snapped!! The joints hadn't even been pushed home fully so the tension was by no means extreme. I thought the bracket was steel but it turned out to be a cheap and brittle alloy. It's totally not fit for purpose and is being returned for a full refund.

Garbage product. Poor build quality using some sort of cast metal which breaks if you try to put any clamping pressure on, which I assumed was the purpose of these frame clamps. Might be useful for small picture frame jobs etc but nothing else

Should have trusted the negative reviews. Bought to for glue up on a small picture frame. First issue is the shorter of the straps which doesn’t hold in place. Second issue is the corners climb up and push the workpiece up. I used on a picture frame with a Roman Ogee profile routed and not enough wood depth to stop the corners being pushed up. Not impressed by the quality or usability despite the low price. Avoid. Returning.

Broke on first use. The tensioning linkage plate one the back snapped into 3 parts - it appears to be plastic or a composite material rather than metal.

I would have expected a product from Stanley to be better made then this. The concept is good but the webbing has to much "give" in it. The picture frame material I used was quite thin on the outer edge so was very unstable in the corner jaws. Even raising the frame on blocks failed to help a lot. The same job can be done using stout string tied tight around the frame perimeter then inserting two pieces of wood in each corner. This gives a far tighter joint then the clamp.

I bought these for a project. Finally got round to it and it failed on first use. Should have got round to that project sooner could have got my money back

"Metal" component snapped on first use while clamping and gluing some folding furniture, waste of money.

I tried another band clamp also offered through Amazon, but upon applying pressure, one of the plastic guides snapped. The Stanley on the other hand showed no signs of stress as I applied pressure. I need to mention that I was clamping a box newel post, and not a light weight picture frame. I saw that these are very similar to the Dewalt band clamp (no longer available) and learned that Stanley owns Dewalt and the spec's matched. I was not disappointed....the only downside is that these are shipped from the UK, and take around 2 weeks...worth the wait!

Un article très utile pour la fabrication de cadres, boîtes, etc.... La mise en place peux s'avérer quelque fois un peu fastidieuse pour une personne seule (suivant la configuration de votre objet si vous voulez ajuster et tenir les 4 angles en même temps cela ne va pas être simple) mais la solidité et la qualité de serrage ne sont pas en défaut. La taille admissible est relativement importante et la sangle peut être remplacée par une plus longue si la taille n'est pas suffisante. Attention toutefois à la répartition des forces lors du serrage, la sangle coulissant de moins en moins dans les Cornière au fur et à mesure du serrage, il est bon de vérifier la répartition des tensions et donc de l'equerrage.

Complete rubbish and wished I didn’t buy them. They broke with the first use on a small cabinet. Also: when the strap comes loose, you’re screwed and busy for an hour to try to get it back in. 0/10 recommend

If you search for Band clamps on Amazon India you'll see many company selling for 3000+ INR ,I bet any company on amazon India to put stanley band clamp to test you will be amazed to find out Stanley Band clamp is Best Feasible and sturdy Most of all its a must have product for any woodworker
