Excellent value and does the job well
It's a table tennis bat! Not much else you can say about it, but it's excellent value for money and does the job well. Better for players of a reasonable standard as it applies spin well but also takes it when applied by your opponent!

Good for the money...but some drawbacks
Revisiting the game after decades away, bought this because it was cheap compared to RRP. It's served it's purpose to a point, and is undoubtedly good value at c £22. Spin seems OK and it seems fairly consistent, but it's very stiff and gives no feeling feedback whatsoever, so you really have no idea how hard you've hit it (from feel) or where you're hitting the ball on the bat (unless you look at the ball marks), and it sounds almost metallic. It's possibly a bit too quick for most who are looking to only pay this sort of money for a whole bat. I don't think it'll help me improve much from where I've got with it after a few sessions, so I'm going to pay a bit more and get something with a bit of touch and feel to it....

This bat is incredible for a newbie such as myself. It gives extreme confidence on attacking with a lot of spin, be careful playing against an opponent also using this bat as it makes for some awkward returning (but some amazing in air acrobatics by the ball as it dances backward and forward). The bat is quite "solid" if you are not careful a gently tap can easily turn in to a rocket return. It does take a little getting used to but it is extremely comfortable, very well balanced and provides a lot of confidence for anyone using it (it was loaned to a number of people to play with even those had never played before). Good luck.

Wow! Don't hesitate, buy it!!!
I don't often write reviews but this needs one!! After being out of the game for a good 8 years I thought I'd treat myself and WOW! I probably play better now then I ever had....( I had Devon Trials as a youngster too) Simply great built bat and excellent value for money!! BUY IT!

Great fast bat
It is a little bit heavy compare to my other bat.

Too light too noisy
The blade is too light making the attack less aggressive. The forehand and backhand rubbers lack stickiness which negatively affects the spin. Not impressed with it as it didn't suit my style of playing which is based on attach and max spin. Overall it is a good bat for a beginner to start with.

Good bat for beginners
I bought 2 bats for 15 quid to start with and the surface of the rubber they had was smooth so you didn't have good traction with the ball and obviously generating any spin was a real challenge. I bought this Joola one and you can get a decent amount of spin on your servers and it connects with the ball much better, allowing for more speed and control. Great bat for those who are just starting out, but also what a bit of quality in their bat.

Speed is good but spin is bad

Perfect product

Takes time to adapt - then HUGE improvements
We were ordinary beginners, 1 hour a day players with standard paddles for 2 years. We were getting really consistent and wanted to step up a level. These looked like the best value for quality - and that’s exactly what they are. …BUT… At first they seemed wayyyyy too slowwwww and wayyy too spinny. “Too much sponge!” we thought. No. No. No! They are *great* intermediate paddles but you need to figure them out - and all that requires is practice. How much practice? It’s been about 5 weeks today and… *EVERY* aspect of our game has gone up. We are much more controlled in deep play, much more dangerous cutting and driving in the short game, tenacious blockers in the defensive game… and of course more annoying servers. All of it is better. Better than that: all of it is a ton more fun. We just crack up at the crazy things we can do now. We did try a different brand first, but they reeked of plastic, so we sent them back. These paddles are virtually odor free. That said, the soft rubber is almost certainly loaded with softening agents which, as a biochemist, I do not want on my skin (nor yours). Solution? Easy: get yourself a golf glove for your paddle hand. Perfect - plus you do get a nice grip this way - just like you would in golf. Score that. Highly recommend. Oh, and to any haters who snub these paddles as “not pro quality?” Don’t be simple. OF COURSE these are not “pro quality!” Haha! They also don’t cost $200! What these paddles are: great for taking a step up from standard paddles without breaking the bank or buying more than you can use. When these eventually wear out? Good news: we will peel them, get a set of Butterfly rubbers, and give these blades plenty more life. Ka-ching!
