The best place to start dabbling with guitar EQ shaping.
Bought, along with CS400, for dear old Dad. Clone of the Boss pedal - same colour scheme, similar model name. & bands with 15 dB of cut and boost. Let's get two things out of the way here. When you turn up the level of anything, not only do you make the sound louder, you also make THE BACKGROUND NOISE louder, and if ANY equaliser makes your 'tone' "dull and lifeless" it's because YOU are incompetent. Right, like the compressor, it does what it's supposed to, HOWEVER, in the case of an equaliser - especially a graphic one - the quality/tolerances of the internal electronics are more critical. If they're at the extremes of the tolerances then they are not necessarily controlling the frequencies they are supposed to - it's worth bearing in mind. Tested with the same setup as in the case of the CS700 review - EMGed Strat, blah, blah, blah - and again, THE PEDAL DOES NOT INTRODUCE ANY ADDITIONAL NOISE!!! High gain, dodgy amp, dodgy guitar, dodgy building and with all the sliders up, yeah, you'll have a s***load of noise, but it's not the pedal, it's the knob on the guitar. Why so cheap? Made in China, cheap parts - sliders aren't smooth and have no centre notch like on the Boss, for example - made of plastic. You'll only break it if you're an idiot. The electronics?... Let's face it, you're either skint or a beginner if you're considering one of these? Buy one, definitely. The 10 band stuff is only any use if you play other instruments or dropped tunings - three of the bands are irrelevant to guitars. Buy one, read up on how to use EQ and what it does. Once you know what you're doing, these things can be more effective than a new guitar and/or pickup change. This is a good piece of gear, can't say how long it'll last, BUT there are more expensive ways of discovering whether a particular pedal is 'for you'.

BEHRINGER EQ700 SCORES 100 OUT OF 10.
I never understood how to use an equaliser properly, too many dials, I now have a better understanding of the larger EQ's. The Behringer EQ700 is basic but highly, and I mean HIGHLY EFFECTIVE. It has a huge impact for it's size, and is very cheap, £25. Access to the battery compartment is a little fiddly, but not a problem. I like to give praise where it's due because I will quickly criticise when a product is terrible.

Decent enough for a budget EQ
Firstly, it works and certainly greatly improves the sound from your amp and, of course, any EQ pedal is better than none. Buy it if you're on a budget and you shouldn't really be disappointed. In any event, your basic rig should contain a Tuner, EQ and a Looper. You could, of course, just get a Joyo American Sound which does a similar job, or get both!

Does what it should
Nice tone shaping eq, definitely useful to tame an overly fizzy dirt pedal or scoop some mids in a more precise way than the amp eq. The frequency points are well chosen and musical. It does feel a bit cheap on the sliders and plasticky but then it is cheap and plastic. It doesn’t affect the sound but it’s not a premium build quality. For this price corners have to be cut and they have cut in the right places for me, I’m not constantly changing the eq so I’m fine with it and the plastic case is robust...I don’t think I’m going to be touring 100 shows a year with it (and if I was I’d probably buy the Boss original) but sat in my studio at home, it’s perfect. Noise wise it’s not really noticeable. My amp makes more noise just being on! If you want to try a multiband eq and don’t want to shell 3-4 x the price for a higher end box, this is for you. Does the job well, any savings are on the build quality side.

Ok for the price
It's OK for the price. I bought it for my wife's Banjo once she had a pick up fitted. Ok for home use but I wouldn't gig it it's not robust enough. Also there is some noise from it which is distracting. Not a patch on my MXR but it's a fraction of the price, you get what you pay for and it's OK.

Behringer EQ
This is for the Behringer Graphic Equaliser. It does exactly what it says. I think being able to tune your sound to how you like it is a great function. It's not transformative but it certainly is noticeable and I think for around £20 it does more than what I expected it to. The build quality is okay, it’s mainly plastic as you’d expect for the price. It’s easy to use and can be powered via adapter or battery. I'm really happy with this!

Cheap Cheerful and Very Good
Bought as a budget buy to roll some of the treble off on my Marshall JMD1 - located graphic in the effects loop pre power amp and after amp tone. Works a treat low noise and does what it says on the tin. TBH it's as low noise as the MXR graphic I use with my main amps - so in summary a great sound and a bargain at the price

Great bit of kit for the money
I have just started buying pedals for studio playing. Just amateur, you don’t know what the amps, cabinets are like and this pedal at the end of your chain allows you to tweak the sound to get as close as possible to what you want. Couldn’t be without it just gives sharpness or base and depth. Anyway only have experience with this pedal and it works fine sits on the floor doesn’t move even though it’s plastic it’s heavy duty. Only use battery, been through 3 three hour sessions still going always on. Used it with both a Strat and electric acoustic, makes such a difference. Very happy. Battery fitting is unusual but as long as you’ve got fingers, a brain and a small Jack plug to push the lugs in you’ll be fine.

Best budget EQ pedal
Best budget EQ pedal by Behringer and a very good clone of the boss original. Very good clone, if you are on tight budget and looking for a gateway into pedals. What more could you ask for in an entry level pedal by a very good and trusted brand.

Behringer Grafischer Equalizer EQ700 zufriedenstellend

Great guitar Equalizer Pedal
The Behringer Graphic Equalizer EQ700 is a steal at $41 Canadian, it lets you shape the tone you want. Weather it is a clean sound or overdrive/distortion, you can easily use the 7 sliders to get the sound you are looking for. Very recommended item.
