They are perfect for an 18 month old.
A child learns very quickly how to use the books. They are entertained for quite awhile. They quickly learn the different characters and begin to attempt to pronounce the words. Very good value for thecost

My son loves this book. If your toddler loves audio books and music, then this is the perfect purchase. It's also very durable and it's easy for my toddler to turn the sound on and off. He has learned so many different animal noises!

Great books, but only last a year
I LOVE these books for my toddlers. They got them at 1 years old, and still love them at 3. They are ALMOST perfect, except, I've purchased 12 different books, and most of them only last 1 year, and then don't work anymore. Even if you remove the batteries. They have shipped me new books, and are great about that, but it is still a bummer that they books just stop working after only a year. The buttons are perfect for the kids, it is everything you want in a read-along book.

Don’t waste your money
There are only a few animals that have speaking accompaniments. The songs only worked for about two months. Basically a complete waste of money.
