Like other reviewers have said- you need relatively strong magnets, but we had a rather large number of magnets collected over the years and actually a reasonable number of them worked. They do need to be stronger ones though. Really good choice as scrap board for the children. We got one in black and one in white. However trying to hang it a nightmare. It would be better to have a full cardboard template, given how much cardboard it came with. Took over a hour and a lot of bad language to hang.
