Amtech U3100 Dutch hoe head

Good heavy tool robust for the job it is needed for. Was able to grind a better edge on the hoe as metal is good and thick. Not lightweight thank goodness. Only criticism would be the very small hole for fixing screw to wooden handle which allows access to small screw so needs drilling out slightly to use a heftier fixing woodscrew. Why don't manufacturers supply a bolt that can go right through the tool, handle ( drill the shaft) and with nut on other side?

Well-made metal Dutch hoe. Fit to a good quality wood handle and jobs a good un.

I needed a hoe for my raised beds that was not too long. So I bought a separate handle and cut the flat edge to my required size. I failed to find the size I needed so this was ideal. It now does the job I needed it for.

Does what it says

Moss grows mainly in the grooves between paving blocks. I wanted to remove the material but found the usual V plate not easy to use. On a hunch cut triangular section off the two outer corners. Works reasonably well. Tilt the hoe and drag the new cut edge down the groove. The moss is cut out.UPDATE Have now made extensive use as a block paving moss remover and works very well.

Not strong at all, Did it in my grass 5 times and it is already badly bent.

This hoe head is so weak that it arrived bent out of shape. No way to rescue it. I do not recommend this product.

Im Gegensatz zu einem Haken macht dieser "Schieber" die Erde fein krümelig. Interessant ist die Doppelaktion von der Vorder-und Hinterkante. Durch schieben werden die Wurzeln vom Unkraut getrennt. Selbst wenn man nicht genau hinsehen kann z.B. unter Hortensien hat man eine gewisse Sicherheit dass es gejätet wird und dass die Erde gelockert wird. Wenn rotiert lässt sich die Klinge etwas tiefer in die Erde schieben. Weil der Kopf relativ schmal ist passt er gut zwischen Gemüse beziehungsweise Zierpflanzen. Für mich momentan mein Lieblings-Gartenwerkzeug. Robust, leicht zu bedienen , effizient und für den Preis sehr kostengünstig.
