Have seen these much more expensive elsewhere (over £80) and have indeed paid at least £30 for one of these a few years ago... However: this particular one is brilliant! The texture of the concave bottom scuffs the tip perfectly. Worth every penny...

Shaped my cue tip and does as it says getting grip and control.

I use this on my snooker cue to scuff up the tip to make it hold more chalk and get better control of the white, but thats about all its good for. It cannot shape a tip at all really and is not a good substitute for sand paper. It's useful to have in your case for the price, its decent but not necessary.

Excellent tool which im never without. I scrub up my tip (15 seconds or so) before every session and when necessary use the needles to give the tip a good "airing".

This is my first one. Neat little tool. I always take it with me when I play pool to keep my tip 'tip-top'. Still can't play pool worth a damn. But, with this handy tool by my side, at least I look like a knowledgeable player. :)

I bought this because it was little cheaper than the Cuetec, and I prefer the black chrome look, but I think the Cuetec is higher quality. Not to say this is junk, it's still solid metal and does the job just fine. It is a little larger than the Cuetec bowtie, maybe 10% larger or so. There isn't a concave shape tool like I expected (though now I see that in the photos so that is my fault), instead you get a flat tapper, which essentially does the same job of scuffing the tip like the scuffer and needles do. If having the traditional concave shaper to quickly put a tip back in round is important to you then I'd stick with the Cuetec, otherwise this is fine for roughing up the tip to get better grip. Technically the scuffer will round as well, but the larger grit of the Cuetec shaper did it much faster.
