Great roof box/bag at an affordable price.
The item arrived at the expected time well packaged. The roof bag looks and feels sturdy. It is easy to fit, however I believe that it is useful to practise the fitting and removal when time allows as positioning of the roof bars and the bag might take some time when first done. The bag has metal bars in the bottom to keep the bag solid. Once installed the whole top part opens via zip lock giving plenty of space for packing. The package contains the inernal straps so that content of the bag can be tied down inside the bag. The bag outside has straps to make it tight once loaded. How water proof, I had no chance to test yet. As some people commented, the fitting bolts do not look very reassuring. However, my ones have not snapped, I still prepared a set of alternative bolts ready in case that happens. Otherwise fitting does not require any tool. Once taken off, it can be easiliy folded into the case included. The case has carrying straps. This is a great solution for people who do not have the space for storing a rigid roof box or for ones who would only use it occasionally.

Good roof box, not so great attachment brackets
For the price you pay, this is a decent quality roof box. The box itself holds a large amount of stuff, and has proven itself very waterproof on long wet car journeys between Scotland and England over Christmas. The base of the box is well supported by struts, the zips seem fairly robust and unlikely to stick, and the whole thing folds down to a nice size for storage. Unfortunately the attachment brackets are not quite as good. They are very fiddly to attach to your roof bars, requiring you to hold washers in place whilst screwing the upside-down nut upwards onto the bolt. Also there is nothing holding the brackets in the runners until the roof box is fitted, so they are prone to sliding out and falling onto your roof/the ground whilst the box is being taken out from storage and/or moved into position. They could be very easy to lose if you are not extra-careful to keep an eye on them. Also - as noted by another reviewer - the brackets and bolts did have noticeable surface rust on after the very first (very wet) journey, so I've had to spray them with WD40 before storing them. That said, once fitted, they do the job of holding the box firmly to the roof rack for your journey. I'd happily recommend this to someone looking to use this for occasional journeys - as long as you don't find yourself going through the hassle of putting it on and off too frequently, then it's good value for money.

Great!
I bought this to replace a rigid box and I have so far been really impressed. I travel a lot (all around Europe) and usually have car share passengers for the long more boring parts of my trips. This bag enables me to free up the boot for their luggage and once I am alone I can put all my stuff back in the car and carry on without the inconvenience/security risk of a rigid box. Unlike several reviewers I did not have any problems with the fixings...they seem solid and have so far stood up to 2x 1000km trips at fairly high speeds with a full load. It is however a good idea to measure your roof bars. Mine are 74cm (including the width of the bars)...if they had been even a couple of millimetres further apart then I would not be so happy! Fuel consumption may be a little higher than with a rigid box as once filled the shape is not as aerodynamic, but the increase is negligible. Good quality, water resistant material with a solid zip and strong Velcro fastenings plus straps to tighten the load...I didn't like the idea of just 3 struts on the bottom holding the load so I cut a piece of thick cardboard to fit and that worked well, although I think I will replace this with hardboard for the next trips to give extra stability. I also used some webbing straps, but to be honest I don't think they were really necessary as the load didn't move. I checked the fastenings every time I stopped and only had to tighten one slightly on a couple of occasions early on in the drive. Installation and removal are pretty simple. it took me around 20 minutes, including loading/unloading of bags...faster than my rigid box and with practice I expect to reduce that time. The whole thing rolls up and easily slips back into the bag for storage. All in all the bag does everything I needed it to and I am delighted with my purchase. I recommend it to anyone needing extra space for long journeys!

Good roof bag, shame about the brackets.
The roof box itself was great - good quality, better than I expected and did a really good job. so long as you only pack stuff in it that is ok getting a little damp then you'll be fine. however, the part of the product that is very disappointing is the brackets that are used to attach the roof box to the roof bars. These rusted significantly after only 1 (wet) journey and I'm likely to have to replace them before my next significant journey. I wanted to contact the seller directly about this, but couldn't see any way to do so through amazon or via the green valley website. Personally, I'd be happy to pay a little more upfront if this meant the brackets would be of a higher quality. shame.

Mixed bag
This product on the whole has proved useful, reliable (ish) and relatively good value for money. I didn't find it as difficult to fit as some, yes is can be a little fiddly but nothing more. Think it was done within 10 mins. Easily stored, much cheaper than a box unit and does fit most of what you need to carry. I think it looks good too. My moan is that the waterproof lining inside has cracked and split on its first trip out and therefore rendered the whole bag useless against the elements. If I am honest I can't tell if its how I packed it or if the product has just failed but it is disappointing that its failed so soon as I like the product.

Both creates space and saves space!
I came across this by accident whilst searching for roof boxes. I had been toying with the idea of a roof box but we don't really have anywhere to store one when not in use, so was concerned that I may have to just get a bigger car instead, and then spotted this. This has as much capacity as a roof box, but when not in use rolls up for easy storage (mine goes under the stairs). It keeps contents sae and dry, and has straps to secure things down so they don't move around when on the move. You can easily add a padlock to the zip, but I would do this as more of a visual deterrent than anything and would never store valuables in the bag. I was slightly sceptical before purchasing due to some negative comments in the reviews, but these generally seemed to fall into three categories: (1) the bag being noisy when driving at speed; (2) the bag being noisy when empty; and (3) the bag getting wet and allowing water (rain) into the bag when the bag is empty. Having read through the instruction manual before installing the bag, it appears that people who have made these comments must not have read the instructions. The manual clearly explains maximum speed is 130kmph/80mph, and it states in several places that you must not drive with an empty bag on the roof! I used this bag over the Christmas period and have used it again since, in all kinds of weather including very heavy rain and it kept all contents safe and dry. We managed to fit a large family suitcase in along with several smaller items, it would easily hold two suitcases with a few items on top (see the attached pictures for a better idea). The great thing is that this rolls up for easy storage so you get all the benefits of a roof box without needing it to take up all the space when not in use, and it also costs significantly less than a traditional roof box. I have already recommended this product to a friend who has gone on to purchase one, and they are equally as happy.

Be warned.........
Be warned, This needs a minimum distance of 500mm and a maximum of 700mm between the roof bars, My standard size car (with pre positioned roof rack holes) is 810mm so it doesn't fit. At the time I purchased it was nowhere in the product description about the fitting size requirements, However it was in the instruction manual when I unwrapped the bag. My one star review is to help flag up this issue as I now have the trouble of returning it. The bag itself looks like a 5* product (except for the mounting, it needs to be longer) for the price it looked very well made and it looked durable. Good design which easily folds down into its bag for storage very easily, It looked to me like the U bracket had been upgraded so would not rust as per previous reviews. I would have been more then happy using it, had it fit! I have now bought a Thule Ranger 90 which fits on my bars but it's more than twice the price, when you compare the products side by side you can see why the Thule is priced so much higher it's a very well thought out product right down to the design of the velcro on the straps to stop them flapping in the wind. however for my needs (occasional camper) the Sherpack would have been ideal and a lot lighter on the wallet.

Fantastic product
A brilliant buy, since I have downsized in cars and fitted roof bars; I needed a roof box for a short break away with the family. It was so easy to set up and load and was sufficiently water resistant for the journey. The space and weight capacity are great and the best feature is that the whole thing simply rolls up and can be stored in the car until the return trip, and of course saves on storage between uses in the home or garage. Compared with the cost if rigid boxes, this is amazing value and for fairly infrequent usage a must have over a rigid box.
