Good value, good customer service.
Drive is for movie storage to use with my Samsung tv. Drive is very quiet, fits into external enclosure.Installed without problems. Had a delay on delivery due to Christmas and post office services.Contacted the supplier and they were very helpful, keeping me well informed on delivery status. Cannot fault the supplier. Will buy again from this company.

Lasted 3 years and didn't fail catastrophically
I bought 2 of these about a year apart, the oldest has just failed at just over 3 years, it didn't fail catastrophically, but over a few weeks the errors increased dramatically, which gave me time to ensure my backups were up to date.Although some may think 3 years is good for pretty much continuous use, I personally expect a minimum of 5 years, the majority of my drives usually at least this long (some even older) I actually have around a dozen, some in NAS units. So to sum up:The quality, is only reasonably good, the fact it just didn't stop and gave me time to check my backups, gives it the fourth star.It obviously looses one for not lasting the expected 5 years but I maybe just have higher expectations.

Excellent value for money, reasonably quiet and quick enough for archiving.
8TB disk at £14.88/TB! Perfect for my photo archive. Large data transfers are fast enough for me. Can't comment on reliability as I've only had it a few days, though the warranty and 2-year data recovery are attractive. Through supplier "Good Streak", this was delivered 2 days early on free (non-Prime) delivery. Packaging could have been better, but nevertheless, it arrived in working order.

Reliable and for gaming storeage!
Having 5 bays for HDD... swap out older smaller TB drives. Use for game storeage. NO PROBLEMS with them. Does the job and the drive is quiet and no issues with bad sectors. Until SSD drives increase in storeage space... works well.

Inadequate packaging leads to dead drives.
Hard drives can be kinda sensitive. Most of your PC has no moving parts; hard drives, on the other hand, are clusters of thin discs, spinning about a thousand times a second, read through a magnet nanometers away from their surface. If anything gets misaligned even slightly, the results can be subtle or catastrophic. You can't chuck HDDs around the way you can most modern storage media, they need to be treated with a bit of care. So I was already on my guard when the two drives I ordered turned up in a cardboard sleeve and two thin plastic bags, and no actual protective padding. Who sends hard drives without even bubble-wrap?One of the drives was clearly dead on arrival, just put it in, system couldn't recognise it, and it made odd clunking sounds, as though the drive was trying to get the head in place to read something and couldn't get started. I popped the other drive in though, and things seemed to get moving. This was where I made my terrible mistake; assuming it was fine, and sending the first for a refund.Nope. That second drive seems to be busted too, just more subtly. I got some partitions set up at first and started copying data across, but then everything just started failing. Moved it across to another machine, and it could see the partitions, but couldn't use them. I was able to delete those partitions, but trying to create new ones just gives a "fatal device hardware error".I don't know for sure if these were damaged in transit, or if something else is going on... it's a bit odd that these weren't in the original packaging, makes me think they may be reconditioned/recycled without sufficient quality checks to make sure they were ready for resale... but either way, from this seller, these are only useful as paperweights. Hopefully I can still open a return on the second.
