Synopsis Review: Old man Wolverine - Another movie for the popular Wolverine character from X Men comics. And one that will be Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the role. This is very loosely based on a comic story for Wolverine called 'old Man Logan.' In the near future, no mutants have been born for a long time. Logan is looking after an ailing Professor X, in a hideout near Mexico. The latter's abilities are getting out of control at times. With only fellow mutant Caliban to help him with this, Logan is getting by working as a chauffeur. He's also gotten old. He needs reading glasses. Healing is now a slow and painful process. And he's developed such a foul mouth that Deadpool would probably tell him off for it. But when a young girl with special abilities crosses his path, with evil men in hot pursuit, this might be his one last chance at doing the right thing... This is a movie that was never going to aim to be a 12a certificate, and is all the better for it because of that. It finally allows the movie version of the character to cut loose in fight scenes. As is demonstrated in the opening few minutes. It tries and succeeds to be a more realistic action movie than most. Characters do feel the full force of injuries. And there's a great moment where a car obeys the laws of physics as they are rather than movie based ones. It's also hugely entertaining as a road movie, as the three main characters do bicker and do produce a fair of humour in the process of their journey. But it's also a great character story first and foremost, with Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman really making the most of great material that allows them to show so much of their two roles, weary men who still try to do the right thing. It is perhaps a few minutes overlong, there being one little diversion that is slightly extraneous. But that's only a minor complaint. Because this is a movie that does it's best to show all the strengths of it's lead character. Finally giving him the solo story he deserves. He definitely goes out on a high, in what is a very memorable watch. There are no extra scenes during the end credits. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options: [It says English only on the box but I have checked the dvd and they are:] Languages: English. Russian. Ukrainian. Subtitles: English. Russian. Estonian. Latvian. Lithuanian. Ukrainian. The disc goes straight to the main menu when loaded, with no ads or trailers. Extras are: A commentary from the director. This has English or Russian subtitles if required. Deleted scenes. Six of these, which can be watched individually or all in a row. With or without director commentary. All are no more than a minute to ninety seconds long. All are pretty good and worth a look. Review: "Heartbreaking and Powerful – A Perfect Farewell" - First Impressions: I watched Logan, and it was one of the saddest films I’ve ever seen. It’s a completely different take on the X-Men universe, focusing on a more vulnerable and aged Wolverine. It’s emotional, raw, and deeply moving, making it an unforgettable experience. Plot and Characters: The film does an excellent job of showing Wolverine at the end of his journey. The once fierce fighter is now struggling with his age, his powers diminishing, and the weight of the world on his shoulders. The dynamic between Logan and X-23 (Laura) adds a deep emotional layer, and their journey together is touching and full of heartache. Tone and Style: Unlike other superhero films, Logan takes a grittier and more mature approach. It’s not your typical action-packed blockbuster—this one is heavy on emotion and has a much darker, more grounded tone. The film doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of aging, loss, and legacy. Emotional Impact: The film is tragic in the best way possible. You can feel the weight of Logan's sacrifice and the loss of characters we’ve loved for years. It’s a farewell that hits hard and leaves you with a sense of closure, but also a lot of grief. The ending is powerful, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it long after the credits rolled. Final Thoughts: Logan is a stunning, heartbreaking film that offers a unique and poignant ending to Wolverine’s story. If you’re a fan of the character or superhero films in general, this is an absolute must-see. Just be ready for a sad and emotional ride. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars) – A perfect farewell to a beloved character, but bring tissues!

Saving the best for last
The best of all the wolverine movies. I have never been a big fan of movie version of Wolverine. I found him as a too watered down version of the comic Wolverine, and after the last couple of movies I was dubious about watching this one. I am also glad for the introduction of one of my favorite X characters, if you have seen the previews you probably know who she it. I though this would be based on the Old Man Logan comics, but aside from Logan getting older it is not much to do with that storyline. There are bit of inconsistencies even though Logan and Charles have seemed to age decades, this seem to be set in our present day. The best thing about this movie is the bloody body count expected from the Wolverine. Also there is a lot left unsaid or not shown in this movie, I don't know if this is to make another movie, or part of another movie but I just find things like that annoying. I find this movie like Deadpool with out the craziness. This is a bitter sweet movie, with plenty of blood and guys action.

Anti hero - spoilers in review
This is not a superhero movie with all the gloss of Hollywood and the feel good factor of moral righteousness. This is more likened to an anti-hero movie, a constantine-esque style movie and character if you will. And more importantly a true reflection of the Wolverine. I resisted watching this movie at first because it was meant to be r rated and I thought it was gping to be glorified violence for the blood lusted movie goers of late. I gave in and I a so glad I did! Having grown up watching the xmen cartoon series and comics and cards and whanot I couldn't wait for the original movies which I loved. Even knowin that they deviated a fair bit from the originAl sense but as far I could see something was better than nothing. And some movies better than others. I can't say I love the wolverine trilogy but i can say that Logan ,for me as the best movie of the 3 and even go as far a saying the best og the xmen. With the blur of the pg rating removed a more honest portrayal is shown, less glitz and glam and fantasy and seems.more like reality on a semi dsytopian not so distant future. I loved the relationship between Logan and Charles and that the fact that they aren't super but just old and weary and still trying. I love Charles humour and gentle bickering of a grumpy old man and Logan still unwilling to show or admit his love in words for the old man. This is a nitty gritty tale of sorrow and conclusion to some beloved characters. It felt like he end of an era for me and perhaps I too felt that time has passed since I first watched the xmen animations. My favourites were always wolverine and rogue.xx I still feel that in the entire series Rogue has not rwally been presented well or payed by the right person or had the right story. Perhaps they will explore her too in a paraĺell set up. plot wise my main gripe would be that once they get to Eden the other kids are a bit useless. They have so much power combined and plenty of training that the ending felt wrong. They could have done more and justified their existence in the story. Kind of an anaemic entrance and exit if I being honest . However i think mini Wolverine more than made up for the lot of them with her sheer presence and determination and rage. A true representat ion of àny child from lLogan. Anyway a must watch movie for anyone whether you are a fan or not!

A Classic One of the best Comic Book Films
The Last Solo Wolverine movie is a Classic where the other two were tonally different the first Origins movie was hit and miss some decent action sequences story was pretty bad some nasty CGI claws and a terrible Deadpool finale ruined it. Wolverine had a sombre fish out of water feel to it as he tried to uncover a conspiracy to kill the future heir to an influential Japanese families empire basically a Samurai movie which was cool but compared to the recent Xmen movies or the Marvel movies its climax is rather anti climatic, amazing imagery though. Wolverine is so far ahead of the first two films its epic, dark, and emotional punctuated by a survival story. All those Xmen and millions of mutants you have seen in every Xmen movie through Cerebro they are all dead from a disease, not from robots or Civil war between other mutants or a War with humans with gun battles and gun ships or knife fights in halls it was a disease that killed Gods. Disturbing to see such a World without the wonder of Amazing Mutants and the powers just being snuffed out by a Doctor in a lab. The trailers set the tone in this film with Johnny Cash playing in the background. I wont spoil the film as I have seen it 4 times since it was at the Cinema but I did have tears in my eyes by the end which I don't believe any other Comic book film has done. Outstanding performances no idea why Jackman and Stewart were not nominated for awards as they were their best here. Classic film such a pleasure to watch a great comic book film. Enjoy.

Not Quite The Film It Wants To Be
Oh I just don't know....maybe I'm fatigued by all the X-men/DC/Marvel movies out there, but this just didn't grab me like I hoped it would. I know it's a 'deeper, richer plot' and all that, and it's about a man conflicted (what isn't?!), but it left me a bid unmoved, despite a great performance from Hugh Jackman, who has always been the best thing about Wolverine's films. The FX are great and the film is certainly not a dull CGI battle film, but er, uh....maybe I'm just getting old
