I have a rain-type shower head and it fits over that.

Was is the width of the extension rod/bracket?

I don't know any dimensions. They are listed if you click on the item. I do know you have plenty of space between the 2 holders for tall shampoo or conditioner bottles.

What is the lenght from the shower head to first shelf, I am not looking for the total lenght?

Since shower heads are so different in sizes, I measured from the neck of shower head down to the bottom shelf of the first basket and it’s 21 inches. I have 10 inch tall shampoo and conditioner bottles in the top shelf and still have room before the bottle would hit the shower head. Hope this helps.

What is the overall height?

The height is 30 inches including the extension. Depending on your shower head I highly recommend the extension. It’s a game changer. Love this!
