A great watch for a great price
I was looking for a cheap tough waterproof watch to wear surfing so i know I've still loads of time left in the water! Well, this watch is absolutely great, does what it says, no frills but perfect for what I wanted. It's all plastic but the strap is like the stuff rucksack straps are made from with a normal watch buckle to secure it. The face of the watch is easy to read and looks really good and the bonus of having the indiglo night light at this price is great too. I suppose the only thing not so good is the loud tick but that doesn't bother me at all although some might find it too loud. It's just a watch tick though.... I wear this watch when working, at the gym and when surfing so it gets lots of use and spends a lot of time in and under the water and is like new. I'm really happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, light, tough, waterproof watch. Great!

Nice, budget-friendly wristwatch
I was looking for a cheap wristwatch in order to replace a low-quality one purchased through Ebay. My requirements were the following: 1. To be analogue 2. To show the date (day only) 3. To be water-resistant (I am not diving but swimming a lot) This watch fulfilled all requirements and on top of that features the Indiglo functionality with illuminating the plate in order to show the time in the dark. The band is nylon but is not hard to the skin and seems really durable. Timex is a well-known brand of watches, so I was surprised by the watch's low price (something like 25 pounds). The watch is extremely light (you can hardly feel it) and seems to be scratch resistant too, but it is indeed too noisy. I have absolutely no issue with it ticking during the night as I do not wear it while I am sleeping; however, in business trips (where I usually stay in small hotel rooms) I can hear it ticking all night! Surely no problem for me, as I am a heavy sleeper. It may not look fancy to some people, but is an excellent casual watch which I expect to have with me for the next years.

Very lightweight, horrible quality strap
It's good, very lightweight compared to the metal expedition. The strap is pretty nasty quality but its fine with an alternative one. I like that the indiglo button is protected from accidental activation unlike the metal one which wasted my battery. Good stuff for fair price

very good value for money
I brought this watch 9 months ago to take with me on land Search and Rescue still as good as new so it seems reliable. A key requirement is the second hand has to be hands free visible at night (for timing medical obs). If you shine a torch on the display the phosphors on the hands glow for minutes. The back light is great - clearly visible, face has 24 hour clock markings - great for time reporting at night when tired. I don't plan on using it in the water but it has to survive heavy rain and the occasional shallow immersion . I have accident put it through the washing machine when wrapped around my trousers belt loop, not a scratch or any sign of water ingress. Time keeping is a good as any other quartz clock so plenty accurate enough for normal application. The strap is nylon and robust, snagged it a few times again not a mark. Analogue display so backs up my compass in the day time. Overall if you want a robust outdoor watch you can't go wrong for the money - well done Timex!

Excellent time-keeper
This is a beautiful watch that is easy to read and ridiculously light and comfortable. It has taken a few knocks but doesn't show any signs of wear yet so it seems pretty dang durable. The only thing that I could see as a downside is that it does tick rather loudly - often I don't notice it or when I do I find it soothing, but there has been one occasion where it felt a bit uncomfortably loud.

Tick a Tick a Timex
Only bought a few Days ago so unable to comment on water resistance..But it has a lovely clear face able to read at quick glance..with a precise second hand movement..Date Calendar..plus the Light up function of Indiglo is a welcome bonus.. The Strap seems robust in a nice Olive shade with a Rubber hoop to secure.. It also has a screw down back which is unusual in the cheaper Watch brands.. Water resistance has not been tested but I have relative confidence in this area as the Watch has been manufactured to a high level..So far is keeping great Time and has not missed a beat..The winder itself is protected by a well designed and shaped resin giving added protection for everyday usuage.. Buying on a genuine Sale price is always nice but even at full price is still a Bargain and am hoping for a few years of service as part of my small collection of Watches.. But in the meantime I would highly recommend this Timex Expedition Watch as you get a lot for the small outlay..Thanks..

Tells Time. Occasionally Tells Lies.
Bought this watch to feel rugged and adventurous. Ended up feeling mildly itchy and slightly damp. Let’s start with the positives: it looks the part. Slap this on your wrist and you immediately feel like you could read a compass, light a fire with a crisp packet, and tell a bear to wait politely while you pitch your tent. It’s got that “serious outdoorsman” vibe, even if the most rugged thing you do is argue with the recycling bin. It tells the time accurately, which, to be fair, is its actual job. The face is clear, the backlight is useful if you suddenly need to know it’s 2:37am while in the dark, and the ticking sound is minimal enough not to trigger an existential crisis. Now for the watch’s rebellious side: comfort. The strap feels like it's made from recycled army boots. Wearing it is a bit like being gently nagged by your wrist all day. You’ll find yourself adjusting it constantly, which is a great distraction from actual work. And the water resistance? Think “light British drizzle” rather than “swan dive into a river.” I wore it in the rain once and it responded like a cat in a bathtub. Moisture got in, fogged up the face, and the watch gave me a look like I had betrayed it. In summary: it’s a decent-looking timepiece for pretending you're on a solo expedition, as long as you stay dry, don't move much, and have a high tolerance for nylon-based chafing. ★★★☆☆ – Works fine. Just don’t get too comfortable, or too wet.

A bargain & I love it!!
I previously had (and have still got) a Timex Expedition watch that I bought quite a few years ago. It had an analogue clock face but a digital date function & alarm. I never really got on with the digital functions then lost the instructions so the date & alarm were useless. For my latest holiday, I decided to get a new Expedition watch with analogue clock face, analogue date function & the usual & very useful Indiglo night-light system (much better than a luminous face & hands). This latest model fitted the bill perfectly and, for the money (£24), is a complete bargain. It has a dark brown case & watch face with white figures (24 hour clock also in smaller yellow figures) plus the Indiglo lighting system (just press in the winder to activate this) and a good nylon material strap & buckle with enough adjustment to fit the widest wrist. It doesn't have any bling but I didn't want that anyway. It is tough, practical & functional & is amazingly accurate. The ticking may be a bit loud for some folk in the dead of the night but it hasn't disturbed my sleep so this is not an issue with me. If it remains as reliable as my previous Expedition watch, I will be even more delighted with it than I am on first impressions. I love it!!
