Kensington Laptop Locking Station with MicroSaver® 2.0

This lock feels very sturdy and is adjustable to the size of the laptop. You have to supply your own cable lock!The lock goes around the back of the screen, I prefer the portability of the cable lock, although it can be bolted to a desk if preferred. It's small enough to travel with even though it's heavy so suits my needs perfectly. I am happy it can be used with my laptop even with the plastic shell case, and my laptop sits in an angled laptop stand with the dock locked on as well. Should fit lots of laptops without the Kensington security slot, which my MacBook doesn't have.It's a tad expensive for what it is, but you can't put a price on your technology and data which is far more inconvenient and expensive to replace, so I am happy to pay for Kensington quality.

I bought the full set (“with lock”) which was confusingly cheaper than the other part so I was worried but all parts are there (station, cable lock, keys) Fits well on my MacBook Pro. It feels solid and a better solution than those 3M stickered little lock additions.

Well made and sturdy. Needs a security cable as well (sold separately). Need to be careful not to close the laptop lid once attached as the lugs holding the laptop will damage the screen.As they make laptops thinner and with no security option this is about the best you can get

I bought this for my daughter at university. Great peace of mind when she is using the library at uni.Its a little on the heavy/bulky side - but certainly secure!

It is perfect - just means your precious mac book is safe and secure - without the need to bolt on some security tag. Def worth the money

Putting off a casual thief, especially when the item you are protecting is worth more to you than its simple monetary value, is worth doing. But I'd be careful of feeling a false sense of security with this - any determined attacker will have this cable cut in seconds and take their time to carefully remove the clamp from the laptop once they have it in the comfort of their own home!I can see it being a suitable deterrent for use in shops and small businesses where the opportunity to lift something lasts only a few seconds but for home use it's of no great value and for travel it's quite heavy and unweildy given you have invested in a slimline computer...Overall not that impressed

It does exactly what i needed

Looks and feels well made, and is quick and easy to operate.I bought this with the cable option.BTW, not all cable locks are equal; I had an existing cable lock (non-Kensington) from a previous laptop and it would not fit this Kensington locking station.
