SmallRig Mini V-Lock Mount Battery Plate with Crab-Shaped Clamp - 2989

Very useful

This SMALLRIG V-Mount battery plate has become one of my go-to pieces of gear whenever I need to mount a battery to a pole, tripod, stand, or other part of my filming setup. The mounting is very versatile. The crab-shaped clamp gives me a lot of options for where I can place a V-Mount battery, and it grips securely without needing some huge complicated rig. I use it when I want to keep a battery off the ground and close to the camera or other gear I am powering. The build quality is excellent. The plate feels solid, the clamp feels strong, and the whole thing has the kind of quality I expect from SMALLRIG. It does not feel cheap or flimsy, and I trust it with my V-Mount batteries. The fit is also very good. My batteries lock into the V-Mount plate securely and I have not had problems with them feeling loose or like they are going to slide out. Once everything is tightened down, the setup feels solid. I also really like the adjustability and flexibility of the clamp. Being able to attach it to different size poles and tripod sections makes it much more useful than a battery plate that only works in one specific setup. For ease of use, it is simple. Clamp it where I need it, tighten it down, slide the battery on, and I am ready to go. It makes changing my filming setup much faster because I do not have to build some custom battery mounting solution every time. The value for the money is excellent because this is not something that sits unused in my gear bag. I actually reach for it regularly. It works with different rigs, different poles, and different tripods, and it solves a problem every time I need external power mounted somewhere convenient. Strong, secure, easy to use, and extremely versatile. It is one of those small pieces of camera gear that ends up being way more useful than you expect.

It doesn’t open super wide but that’s the idea — attaches to stands and bars / light or tripod stands. Perfect. The neewer or smallrig clamps are what you want for wider options / or the square smallrig unit that can screw into many different types of equipment is the most flexible but these are great too.

finally had a chance to use it. the quality is well built, hopefully it would last

As usual, SmallRig provided a quality product. I am happy with SmallRig mini V mount Battery plate. It's from metal, looks durable and it's very easy to use on almost every tripod and other type of equipment. Perfect for new models of V-mount batteries. Its compact size and works amazing with my SmallRig VB99 but also with the SWIT V-mount battery which is bigger.

This is a great little V-mount battery plate — solid build and works exactly as expected. It connects really well to tripod legs or smaller support poles, which is perfect for my setup. Just a heads-up: it doesn’t grip as securely on thicker poles, but for standard tripod legs, it holds perfectly. Super convenient and a nice addition to my rig.
