Well worth the money to cut big tiles.
An excellent machine, only spoilt by a poor instruction manual but with a bit of thinking it is clear where everything goes. Cuts through tiles like butter. Main thing is to check everything is properly lined up and the fence at right angles to the cutting blade. Well worth the money for making a good job of cutting large tiles. The only bit that did not work, but was easily sorted was the bung to drain the water from the tray. It also takes a lot of water to fill at least 15 litres. Only took 3 days to arrive from Berlin.

Tiletastic!
Bought to accurately cut large 12mm marble tiles for a bathroom project. I donโt think this machine would suit a professional user but with care the machine can be set up to cut quite accurately and cleanly. Trick was to clamp a sacrificial piece of tile across the fence and cut a registering notch into it. You can then align the tile to be cut with the notch at the fence end and with the blade at the start of the cut. I did find that the blade can slightly wander and bind so my technique was to advance the cut, retreat and then roll forward again. After some practice I was able to make long 60cm cuts even at an extreme mitre angle and achieve a pretty accurate result. One of the other minus points was that there was a lot of spray from the cutter so I made a makeshift apron from a large rubble sack to protect my clothes. After the project I cleaned it up with a hose and advertised it on an auction site for half price which I reckon was still a good deal for me considering hire prices and that I did not have to worry about rushing the job to return it. Recommended if you are prepared to fiddle a bit and live with the quirks and definitely better than the smaller table saw style wet wheels. One last tip was to use a cheap diamond chisel sharpener to polish the cut edges of the tiles to a good finish. Alternately if you are using softer stone tiles like Travertine you can dry cut these with an angle grinder using a diamond blade but you need a steady hand and a good area where you donโt mind all the dust that will blow up!
