Cokin P Series Full ND Filter Kit

I haven’t yet been able to use these filters in the field. I have had a chance to open them and take a look though. I purchased the full ND set and the Grad ND kit. The holder looks okay but is plastic so I am hoping to find another holder which is maybe metal and sturdier. Another thing with the holder is it does give some vignette when using a super wide lens, such as a 10mm. This just means that I have to shoot at 12mm instead of wide open. The holder also doesn’t lock in place so therefore slides about. As for the filters; they look good quality but is a shame they don’t come with a pouch or anything more protective than just a plastic sleeve with a cloth. The outside package looks awesome though. I see no colour cast at the moment but I will update the review as soon as I get a chance to get out with them.

These are made from resin so can be damaged more easily than a hardened glass equivalent but if you are careful, they are a good way of altering your exposure times at a reasonable cost - Don't drop them onto rough surfaces (as a frioend recently found out) as they can get scratched. You do need the matching M (P) Series filter holder and an adaptor ring of the correct size for your lens(es) of course. I tend to use the 4-stop one most but the Cokin frame allows me to add all three together if ever there is a need for a really long exposure or I can add one of their Landscape, Gradual or Polarizing filters depending on what I want to create. This is much more effective and creative than using a bag fill of screw-on filters (where you would need one of everything in every lens size) and, unlike the screw-on versions, generally doesn't intrude on the image . I have to say that I have no connection with Cokin or their agents, I just like these filters as an economical way of solving photographic challenges.

Product arrived on time does what it was made for. Excellent value for money. Would recommend thrying these filters before buying expensive quality products (like Lee Filter system).

It has been a number of years since i lost all my cokin equipment so have been buying individual screw-in adaptors as and when, but you get to the point its just all too much in weight and storage space in your camera bag and decide to go back to cokin. I love cokin, so flexible, so easy to organise in your travel bag..........BUT you have to accept the price. this ND Filter kit for example. if money is very tight, id suggest buying screw-in filters, but if you feel you can spend more, over time, start to build up your cokin kit. So in terms of value for money, umm a challenge as it is expensive for small plates of tinted perspex, BUT quality and flexibility, it scores very high in my opinion.

Far superior to the other cheaper brands I've used before. No colour loss and great quality images. Used a cokin compatible filter holder too. Attached image had saturation increased but only for effect. Only used ND8 for this too.

Cokin filters as always are excellent quality. Upgraded my set bought some more. Nice box, nice packaging, excellent optical quality - but they give you a nice fat box that will hold three of the usual filter cases, and then give you three filters in cellophane wrapping. Penny pinching in the extreme. If I'm paying ten pounds plus a filter I really don't think it's too much to expect them to come adequately protected. For Cokin to not do this is just beggarly and miserly - I really do expect better than this from them especially since all previous filters are supplied this way by them.

Great set of filters for those who cant or dont want to get Lee filters. No colour cast but i would recommend getting some nice pouches to protect them

Been a sucker for this brand for ages now and finally got these to go along with the Grads filters. Great quality and build with very little colour cast.

Je n'ais pas encore vu le résultat sur différents tests en argentique sur moyen format mais se monte parfaitement sur les objectifs Mamyia RB67.

Per il mio uso, amatoriale, sono validissimi. Il sistema a lastre, malgrado un ingombro maggiore rispetto ai classici filtri circolari a vite, mi permette di utilizzarli su tutte le ottiche in mio possesso.

Great for seascapes and bright landscape photography.

Die Filter haben eine sehr gute Qualität und liefern tolle Ergebnisse. Ich kann sie auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen.

Quería probar los filtros cuadrados ya que tengo varios objetivos de diferente diámetro y quería algo para usar con todo y me decidí por estos, ni los más baratos, ni los más caros. Para empezar, de lujo, para jugar y pillarle el gusto y gusanillo, cuando se mejore en las fotos ya se mejorará el material, pero de momento, genial, seguramente me cogeré los de degradado en un futuro no muy lejano...
