Top-tier oil for modern engines—smooth running, clean burn, and built for long-life intervals.
Picked this up for a service on a diesel motor—wanted something that holds up under motorway runs and site shifts. Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL is proper stuff. Engine runs smoother, quieter, and cleaner after the swap. Cold starts are crisp, and it doesn’t burn off or thin out after long hauls. It’s fully synthetic and meets VW 504/507 specs—ideal for modern Euro engines with DPFs. Used it across a few vehicles now, and it keeps internals clean with no sludge or varnish. Pour spout’s tidy, bottle’s solid, and the 4L size is spot-on for most fills with a bit left for top-up. Good stash-ready gear for anyone who wants their engine sorted without cutting corners. 👍 Pros ✅ Fully synthetic—top protection and clean burn ✅ Long-life formula—ideal for extended intervals ✅ Meets VW 504/507 specs—DPF safe ✅ Smooth cold starts—no lag or knock ✅ Trusted brand—Castrol always delivers 👎 Cons ❌ Premium price—worth it for engine longevity ❌ No funnel included—watch your pour ❌ Not ideal for older engines—check spec match ❌ Bottle’s bulky—store upright in van or shed 🧭 Personal Review If you want engine oil that’s built for modern motors and long-life performance, Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL earns its spot. I’ve used it across van services and daily drivers—no drama, just clean running and solid protection. Proper stash-ready gear for anyone who wants their engine dialled.

Quality oil at the best price online
I like the fact I can get oil delivered to my door, I like the fact this oil is the best price you can find online and in retail stores, I like the neck shape on the bottle it's probably the best-shaped neck on any oil bottle product that I've used. I use this oil in my lovely Wifes 2016 VW POLO GTI, the 1.8 turbo charged version. I don't like the fact it's 4 litres I could do with 5, but that's a small don't, don't you think! and holding four litres above the engine while you wait for it to pour is better than five, there I've justified the 4 litres size. I buy two keep one in the garage and use all of the four litres and finish off with the spare. the engine takes 5,8 litres of oil per oil change, the filler cap on the engine says use Castrol oil and the Castrol oil website oil finder, states this is the recommended oil for this car. I think I've changed the oil five times on this car and the engine still purrs like a kitten. By the way for all of you that change the expensive plastic sump plug, I'm still on the original and it's not leaked yet.

Great Fully Synthetic Oil for VAG Vehicles (VW, Audi, SKODA, SEAT)
I use Castrol Edge 5W-30 to top up the oil in the 2.0 TDI 150 PS diesel engine in our SKODA Kodiaq. It burns oil at the rate stated in the owner's manual and needs checked every 3-6 months when used for shorter runs. This is a fully synthetic oil that is equivalent to VW 507 00 and generally suitable for many modern gasoline and diesel turbocharged engines, especially those from VAG (VW, Audi, SKODA, SEAT). I found this 4 litre carton very good value for money at under £30 and it is very convenient to be able to buy it on Amazon Prime free delivery which saves a trip to an automotive accessories dealer which for us is at least a 25 mile round trip. Highly recommended.

Genuine castrol oil at a bargain price.
I've been using this oil for years in my Golf. It's the recommended oil for my car. Go to the Castrol website, click on "find the right oil" and enter your reg number to check which oil is right for your car. Easy!! The Amazon price is nearly always cheaper than anywhere else, and the current price of £20 is half the price of the cheapest anywhere else! Yes, it's genuine Castrol oil. If you choose "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon" you can't go wrong. There are trusted third-party sellers too, such as Opie Oils. For those complaining that the 4L bottle of oil weighs less than 4Kg, let's do a bit of science: Litre is a measure of volume. Kg is a measure of weight. 1L of water would weigh 1Kg. Oil is less dense than water, so 1L of oil weighs less than 1Kg. This particular oil has a density of 0.85g/ml, so 4L of this oil weighs about 3400g. Add on about 220g for the weight of the container and you'll find that your 4L container of oil will weigh about 3620g. Hope that helps. Happy motoring :D

Fantastic product for a great price. Long lasting too.
Fantastic product. Always buy your car manufacturers recommend oil for a longer lasting performance and reliability. My car has an indicator like most stating top up oil. This is normally 1l every 6-9 months depending on millage. So will last me 2 years minimum and I’m doing about 1300miles a month. You go into many places and there offering on brand for a few quid less, it’s not worth having to get your car drained as it starts to get older because parts and as well lubricated as the can be. Massive saving compared to buying the same brand via retail. Probably cheapest I have purchased this at. Most companies that offer oil and promoting there own brand for a lower cost. It’s like using supermarket fuel. Eventually it’s going to cost you and cause problems. This is why taxi companies that hire out cars tell there drivers not to use supermarket fuel. It’s the same with oil. Spend a little more and save in the long run. Always use manufacture recommended products as it will always save you in the long run. So many friend I know having to pay extras for parts as a bolt has seized up so a 5 minute job becomes a 3 day wait for a new part. Only my opinions but most car enthusiasts will agree. The better care you take of something the longer it will last.
