Will not fit fine sharpies
While this is a very good quality pen loop, it does not fit my favorite pens that I use regularly for my bullet journal. Will only fit thin pens, not fine sharpies of any design. Please see attached picture. Unfortunately this pen loop is useless to me.

The Missing Piece of the Surface Pro, Now Found!
Bought a Surface Pro 2, and I love it for its versatility, but the magnetic pen holster is just not good enough for a mobile warrior. It can be knocked off easily in a bag and more importantly will block off the charging port when you need to juice it up. I bought the Leuchttrum Pen Loop to solve this problem and it is perfect. Here's my pen solution, with pictures! After putting the pen in its magnetic port I carefully stuck the little stick-on pen loop right where the pens little hook would normally rest. This way I can get double the security and use the loop and the magnet at the same time when on the go. No loose Surface pens in my bag! This loop has a nice little 2 position "click" action not unlike the Surface kickstand, so you can snap it back for charging. Its also great in its little antenna position when you need it out of the way but easy to get to :)The only downside is that, like other reviews have mentioned, it starts out pretty tight and leaves a little bit of a residue from the adhesive on the pen, but that goes away pretty quickly(I'd say like a couple weeks). The benefits are pretty obvious, and I'd say that this is essential for anyone with a Surface. I would also highly recommend putting the loop where I put it, as it does not intrude with the original design, protects the micro SD card slot, and provides double the security. Save yourself a lost Surface Pen, or just the bother of having it get knocked off/blocking the power port, and buy this now!

Works for attaching Apple Pencil 2 to Keyboard Folio
The loop is useful for attaching an Apple Pencil 2 to a Smart Keyboard folio for the 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. The Pencil is way more secure than when attached with just the edge magnet; it’s not super tight but holds with normal use. It can be pushed out of the loop when crammed into a full backpack, but that’s the same as any other loop and can be avoided with reasonable care. I haven’t noticed any residue on the Pencil and it does not interfere with the keyboard/stand function or the iPad attaching to the cover.I attached the loop to the inside back cover of the folio; the Pencil can still attach to the edge magnet for extra security and charging (see pics). The Pencil is a little off the magnet on one end but seems to work OK. The loop needs to be off-center and holding on about a third of the way toward the end so it doesn’t interfere with charging. The loop adhesive is strong. Try out a couple of positions with the Pencil and iPad so you can make sure they both line up before peeling and sticking. Also, you want to make sure the loop angles in toward the iPad, so that the Pencil attaches to the magnetic edge instead of sticking out.As far as value, there may be cheaper variants but I would just pay the $6 since I know this one works

First the good:It works well and is a heck of lot better than spending nearly $100 on case with a pencil hold for my Apple pencil. It has a low profile and holds theApple pencil very snug and inspite of the issues I mention below seems very securely attach directly to the back of my iPad Pro.The manufacturer / supplier stamps this item to emboss it's name on it. The problem with that is that it damages the the pad causing it to curl upward. The result is that one side of the pad won't adhere (even with the aggressive adhesive on it) and keeps lifting up.The pen loop itself seems to be weeping some kind of goop all over my pencil. It's like and adhesive or something, but there is quite a bit of it. I am hopping that by repeatedly inserting the pencil cleaning it's surface I will eventually remove whatever that goop is over time. Conclusion: It works but has a couple flaws. Considering the cost of this item compared to buying a case just to hold your pencil I would suggest going this route.

Elastic will only hold the most narrow of pens.
I can hold a ballpoint pen or a thin mechanical pencil in this & nothing else. Even my Pitt artist pens is too fat to fit in. Glue doesn't hold very well either. I'm only giving it some stars because it technically will hold a pen but it's useless for me & now I can't remove it without damaging my note book. This is a shame as their books are great quality, just this loop thing is not good for anything other than a ballpoint I'm hoping with use it might stretch a little otherwise I just have this tab hanging out of my note book for no reason.

Excellent way to secure your Apple Pencil to your iPad Pro!
When Apple first announced the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I, like many others were shocked to find there was no way to attach the Pencil to the iPad itself. That's where this super awesome little pen loop comes in. It's just the right size to hold your Apple Pencil, and it's adhesive is strong enough to cling to the microfiber lining of the Smart Keyboard without messing it up. It's also easy enough to insert that you can have it hold your Pencil when not in use. I can't recommend this product enough if you're a lucky owner of an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil!

Underwhelmed....
While this is an incredibly simple product and should just "work," I was surprised to find that it doesn't work that well for me for three reasons.... 1) the loop is small/tight, which is fine for a thin Bic pen (or similarly skinny) but too tight for a heftier pen (~1/2" diameter). 2) it's designed to stick to the back inside cover of the Leuchtturm1917 notebooks, which is where the pocket is, so this loop pulls on the pocket, not the cover and I feel that will likely cause the pocket to be damaged over the life of the notebook. and 3) the plastic piece that the loop is sewn to, sticks into the loop itself, so when you slide a nice pen into the loop (assuming you have a skinny enough pen to fit) it is a bit rough/abrasive on the pen. So while this technically accomplishes the goal of attaching a pen/pencil to the notebook, I'm not a big fan of how this is accomplished.

The Future's Here!
I tried loads of ways to store my pen: in my pocket, in my mouth, behind my ear, perched precariously on the end of my nose, but dang-it, nothing seemed to work until one day a friend said "Hey chum, have you tried the Leuchtturm 1917 Pen Loop?". I immediately took the pen off my nose and said "No, I haven't" and now I can say proudly that my pen sits snugly in the Leuchtturm 1917 Pen Loop.Unfortunately the Leuchtturm 1917 Pen Loop doesn't come with instructions about where to put the loop once the pen's in it, so I've stuck it to my ear. Works a treat (mostly).

("thin") Pen loop - NOT* Fountain Pen loop (*see comment review)
The idea and the purpose of these Pen Loops is great. I use various notebooks at the same time and always have pens flying around. In fact, there aren't many decent notebooks out there that actually allow you to attach a pen to it and this is quite an inexpensive way to convert any notebook into a notebook + pen carrier. As I mentioned, I use several notebooks so I bought 2 of these to try out.At first glance the presentation is very good and represents exactly what the purpose of the item is (the pictures on the Amazon offer say it all). The instructions if required come in German, English and French. And because they can there's a mention of how detailed Leuchtturm's notebooks and planners are - in case you're thinking of buying one.So far so good...but this is where I think they might have to improve the product or come up with a 2nd version of the loop - rather than a pen loop - a Fountain Pen Loop.As far as I'm aware Leuchtturm have marketed themselves as been fountain pen friendly and all that...so why would they come up with a product that isn't fountain pen friendly??I want to stress out, the product is good, sturdy, well built...but from my point of view, at the moment only suitable for thin pens. If you're looking to use this with fountain pens, make sure it's either a thin FP or be prepared to spend a fair bit of time until you manage fit your pen into the loop. Needless to say of course that once you fit it in, it will stay their. You could probably shake it around all you want, your FP will probably not even move - word of advice though: if you try this, try it first with an un-inked pen - just saying.I have attached some pictures of me fitting in my Lamy Safari Special Edition 2018 - and I can assure you that I managed it but not without difficulty. For the price it has however (£2.50) I'll keep using it (well, it's already adhered to the notebook), but it's a shame as unfortunately I won't be able to use it with other bigger fountain pens I have.I still need to think about what I'll do with the 2nd unit I have...Update: 14/06/2018So, I've been using this for over a month know and it's still attached to my notebook and I'm still using my Lamy Safari with it. I was initially a bit disappointed, but truth be told, the pen loop doesn't feel as stiff as it did at the very beginning but it still holds the pen firmly. I guess also Lamy isn't the easiest of pens to use with a pen loop, as the bottom on the pen is actually squared. If you have a large pen but with a rounded or pointy edge then definitely it will be easier to use. So for anyone thinking about buying this, I would probably say just consider the shape of your pen as will make it easier or more difficult to use but eventually the loop does work. That's +1 star from me.

Only suitable for standard pencils and basic ball points. NOT for all advertised uses
Very disappointing despite being well made and with good adhesion via the sticky pad.My complaint is that I think this item is seriously misdescribed: I cannot get anything thicker than a bog standard pencil or bic type ball point into the loop, which is both very tight and made of very resistant elastic. My smallest pen, a modestly sized Pelikan M200 will only fit after a minute or so off wrestling with the notebook and the attached pen loop. The whole point of these things is to be practical and convenient, which these are not. I even began to worry that my pen surface was going to be scratched by the tightness and robustness of the loop!Reasonable value if you want a good quality holder for a pencil or very thin ballpoint. If you want to hold a fountain pen, forget it.

Sometimes things just work...
...and this is one of those times.I like to carry a "proper" notebook with me, rather than one of those new-fangled electronic gadgets. The Leuchtturm1917 mini (A7) notebook is perfect for the purpose. I bought the lavender (more mid-purple) one and it's just lovely (so long as you use a biro or pencil - the pages aren't ink-proof).I team it with my Waterman Hemisphere purple ballpen which is a perfect match to the notebook. But...there's no pen loop on the notepad, and it's nice to keep the pen and pad together.Well, this little adhesive pen loop in the answer. Sadly while Leuchtturm1917 do the pen loops in lots of colours they don't do one in lavender (why not if you do notebooks in that colour?). Rather than go for a near match in blue or purple, I just went for the white. There's a hard plastic square - about 40mm square and 1mm thick with a peel-off backing to reveal the adhesive. The pen loop itself is just elastic. It's a tight fit even for a slim biro like the Waterman.I took a bit of care when deciding where to put the adhesive square - once placed you'll not be able to take it off again.I'm hugely pleased with the notebook / pen loop / Waterman biro combination.

High quality item but poorly considered
This is obviously a premium accessory. It feels and looks great. The adhesive pad is high quality and feels very secure when attached to the notebook. Once in my pen is held very securely. However, there is one crippling issue with this item. The size of the loop. It is simply too small! I use Pigma Microns (not a large pen by any means) and it is a nightmare to get them into the loop. The loop is too tight and catches the pen on the way in. This loop seems to be designed for nothing bigger than a standard biro, let alone the type of pen many Leuchtturm users will want to use!!Premium product let down by real world ergonomics.
