Good quality metal containers. If you use super hot lunch in one of the containers, all items will become warm. There's no insulation within the metal containers. Hot temperatures are preserved for about 3 hours within the cylinder metal case. The fabric carrying case falls apart from within: the thin insulation part of it gets detached pretty quickly. It points out to a low quality carrying case.

I actually wanted this to put gravy in to take to a Christmas function. It kept the gravy hot all through the meal for over twenty guests, so it was perfect.
