Not just any old pile of rocks.
These lava rocks are tumbled into little works of art. Not only do the look good by themselves just hanging out, but with flames snaking between them, they become magical. They absorb heat and emit it after the fire is gone. Recommended!

Retains heat!
Had glass pebbles before that look nice but never put much heat out. These put out heat and even after turning the gas off, they retain heat for awhile.

Not without flaws
They look good but like other reviews say, they do turn black and do have the potential to crack/explode.After a few popping on their first use, we found that drying them in the oven at a low temperature for a while solved the moisture problem.When shipped, they ended up loose in a large box so who knows how much of the original 20 lbs actually arrived.

Thought it would be more but it’s not a lot of rock. Not much value for the money.
