Originally designed for ski patrols and mountain rescue, this one-size-fits-all radio harness will instantly adjust to hold any sized radio snuggly to your chest without the use of multiple Velcro straps or buckles found on lesser quality harnesses. The vertical orientation of the radio improves reception, extends antenna life, and reduces the chance of chest injury during a fall. The unique suspension system virtually s that your harness will not bounce or swing. The harness features all Cordura construction, a large cargo pocket, pen pouch, and twin elastic antenna keepers.

Almost Perfect
I've been using this harness for a couple years in the ski industry. I spend a lot of time on my skis, and I needed a way to carry my radio, a note pad, and pen in a way that wasn't going to injur me if I fell, or release all my stuff all over the hill. This does that perfectly. The only thing I would change is the harness itself. It stays put just fine, but it tends to ride up my back and the radio pouch sags in the front. It's a very small annoyance, but its there. Overall, I'd buy it again. I'm still giving it 5 stars because this thing is built so well, it will probably outlast me. I think it's an excellent choice for my application.

Still a standard
I had one of these harnesses in the long-long ago, when I was on ski patrol, SAR, and fought wildland fire. In those days, it carried a Bendix King. I have no idea where I lost my first one, but somewhere in the shuffle it vanished. This replacement is meant for my amateur radio handheld. My Kenwood D72A fits perfectly. I adjusted the radio to the "small radio" position, which means the display sits above the holder, so I can see my readouts. If I wanted it more secure (when hiking, skiing, etc) I would move it deeper into the pouch so it would have a bit more support. This is a pretty amazing radio harness. It is the standard for a reason. It is well built, sturdy, and does just what it needs to very well. With that, the material is heavy duty, and should last forever. But, that means for as small a system as this is, it does have a bit of weight to it. But, I will take that weight with the quality. In addition, just food for thought in case someone is interested in this for an amateur radio -- you will need to lock your buttons, because of the way the radio sits in the holder. Outside of simply wearing a radio on a belt, which I cannot stand, I haven't found a great way to deal with this. It is just the nature of the radios versus the harness.I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for such a radio harness that will tolerate whatever is thrown at it.

Works great!
Works well. The pocket is big enough for my phone, notebook, papers, & a small medkit. I work as a campground ranger & it holds up well in the sun, sweat, & rain so far. I always have trouble fitting around my shoulders but this one fits great. The only complaints I have are the straps by your neck may rub on you & I wish that the radio was held at an angle because I keep poking myself in the face with the antenna.

Perfect for roadies and stagehands
This product is perfect for what I use it for. I am a concert technician and the Walkie-Talkies we use are Motorola Model# AAH25RDC9AA3AN. This radio fits perfectly with no room to spare inside the Conterra's radio pocket. If this radio was any bigger at all it would not fit. I love that the Conterra has a little loop around the shoulder sling that holds the antenna of the radio and keeps it out of my way. The large pocket of this radio is in my opinion the perfect size. My Iphone fits right in there as if they designed it to hold an Iphone. I can fit my phone, my flashlight (SureFire P2X Fury Tactical), and 2 rolls of electrical tape in this pocket. My only complaint is that the shoulder slings rub up against my neck and after a long day this can get rather painful. But if you wear a collared shirt, this isnt a problem. I definitely recommend this for all my fellow roadies and stagehands out there.

I love this harness
I love this harness, it works great. I wish I would have purchased the larger one because I ran out of room fast with this thing. I work as a special event medic that is constantly away from my trauma bag. I found it annoying to have everything in one pouch. Also unless I’m wearing an ear piece I found the front facing design of the radio to be a major flaw. For example when I’m responding to front stage or even behind stage. It was extremely difficult to hear radio traffic. I ended up rotating the radio inward so the speaker wasn’t facing away from me.It can also be used as a concealed carry holster, it holds my XDS 3.3in with that standard mag

It does what it is supposed to do
I use this (so far) as a holder for my cell phone when I go to the mountains. Instead of driving with a bulky item on my belt (cell phone holster) I just drop my cell phone in the sleeve on the chest harness. I will use this when hunting to carry the cell phone and the radio. Previously, when using radios in the woods...you were always sticking the radio in one pocket or another or in the backpack. Never at the ready. This will change that. Plus you can slide some water purifying tablets and a small platypus in the sleeve. It is NOT a roomy sleeve by design. If you want more room on your chest get the Conterra tool chest (which will be bulkier...also by design) But this size item fits my need perfectly. Construction is solid. Just thick enough in the straps and body to make it sturdy. But it is easy to adjust and make very comfortable.

Great product, comfortable, and useful!
I work on the railroad as a freight conductor, and this is the perfect harness if your on the ground switching cars, or on the road. Easy to take off and put back on. I’m 6’1 255 athletic frame and it fits but any bigger than me and it would be tight. Radio fits well, room for paperwork, pens, or notepad. Only time it can be annoying is when wearing a vest, because it bunches the vest up, but not a big deal.

Great Product but very small
I’m 6’2” and maybe it’s my fault for not reading everything, but this is very tight and small. I love conterra, made extremely well and super durable, but this exact one was too tight on me and a small pouch.
