I like that this piece doesn't fall apart the way cardboard scratches do. I didn't mount it to the wall, just put it on the floor by the toys and he's happy to scratch!

This item is well made, sturdy and the cats love it. I use it on the floor, and the accessory sticky dots make sure it stays in one place. A good purchase.

Well I bought this for my 16 year old cat who doesn’t really use the scratch post that is standing up much so when I turned it on the side she used it a few more times. Figured it might be her back or poor old body. I got this thinking it would help, but the dogs have more fun pushing it around on the floor. I am sure if she was younger it would have been a smash it. It came with little rubber stickers to put on the back to stop it from sliding around which does help.

I bought this for my cat a year ago and as you can see from the picture, it is well worn. He uses it all the time and I don’t have any problems with him scratching on any other furniture. I am getting ready to buy him a new one.

One of our cats has a bad habit of scratching at the window screens when we have to have our windows open in the summer (no A/C). In order to dissuade her from doing so, we purchased this scratching pad and set it up close to one of her favorite windows. She still hasn't completely stopped the bad behavior, but it's been cut down by about 85%, at least. All the cats love it, in general, too. I'm very pleased with the purchase.
