I put this on a food grade barrel to transport and dispense water. It fit the bung perfectly. It functions smoothly and seals when the handle is in the closed position. Works like it should. It even came with teflon tape to seal the threads in the bung. Great faucet.

I have well issues, so I have been collecting rainwater for some time. Finally able to get the 55 gallon drum has helped tremendously, getting this faucet now makes it a thousand times easier to get water I need to haul into the house. Installing it didn't take my fiancé any time at all to complete, I now can pull water from my drum much, much easier. As soon as we get more drums, I will buy this faucet.

This valve/faucet kit solves a problem for me. It fits 15 gallon barrels as well as 20, 30 and 55 gallon drums.I need it for the 15 gallon size. Buying in bulk is always cheaper in the long run. However products in larger containers need an easy way to be transferred into daily use sized containers. This is a perfect solution for me.I will be able to control the speed/quantity of product quickly and easily because ball valves like this one can be fully open and shut in less than a second. That means you can deliver the liquid at full speed right to the end without worrying about spillage.I will also be able to attach a piece of hose onto the spigot allowing me to place the receiving jug on the floor. I don't like holding them why they fill. To me its cumbersome, a waste of energy and also less safe.The threads fit very well into the plastic drum, I may not have to tighten it all the way to the o-ring.Supplied are 3 o-rings, a hose clamp and Teflon tape.The o-rings are for the drum threads, Teflon tape to mate the spigot to the bung adapter and the hose clamp for attaching a hose to the spigot. All feel well made.

The materials are top notch and everything you need is included. I have several barrels for storing rain water. All are about 50-55 gallons with all being white except one blue one. The white ones have a threads that are obviously not the same being much coarser (there are about 3 threads total). So this wont fit them. BUT the blue one it fit into perfectly. I'm not sure if the color of the barrel has anything to do with the threads. I got the white ones from a local hardware store that sells them used after they empty whatever chemical is shipped in them (I do NOT use these for drinking water). The blue one is likely made specifically for water storage.

The threads do not fit my barrels. I tried several different barrels of different sizes and the threads would not go in more than 1 and 1/2 turn. I had my friend try and he had he same problem. Photo 1 shows the comparison of a IPS threaded plug from a barrel and the one I received. The difference in thread pitch is slight but enough to cause them to not fit. The 3/4 inch threads in the large fitting do not fit tight enough with the hose bib to make a watertight fit. The 3/4 threads appear to be straight rather than the IPS tapered threads which get tighter when screwed in. I used more than 10 wraps of Teflon tape and it was still not a tight fit. The quality of the materials and workmanship are good but the design specifications of the item doesn't fit IPS pipe threads. I wish this would fit because it would be very handy. I can't recommend the item because it wont screw into my barrels. I would not buy this again.

I would like to start out by saying that the bad reviews could have been prevented had the people simply read the ad and description. The thread size IS listed. This may not fit the manufacturers hole, but will do just fine if you make your own, like a lot of people do, while making rain barrels. Its easy to install and does not leak!

This faucet for a 55 gallon barrel works just as our should. Make sure that the barrel your going to install this on has the same threads and use thread tape, make sure you have it tight but not over tight or it will leak.
