Fast and Fun Read
I chose this book because I am a HUGE LOCH NESS MONSTER collector. I have been a true believer since the age of 8, reading about her in "Fate" magazine. All it took to get me to buy the book was to see Nessie was in it and featured in the plot.Voila! A David Wood fan was born!!After that intro above, I fear I have wronged Mr. Wood, because his writing is fun and his story-telling skills remind of Clive Cuddler. That comparison coming from me is high praise indeed.NOTE TO PARENTSIf you monitor your middle school or high school students' reading choices, I can recommend this book, and probably the whole series, based on the following: little swearing; clever plots; fun characters and especial use of "the buddy system" as true friendship; and his use of strong female characters opposite strong, recurring male leads.I look forward to going back to the start of the series and reading all the way through.

Don't go in the water...
I love the Dan Maddock adventures. It is really coo how the author weaves ancient legends and myths into a contemporary story. This one is no exception. I don't think writing that this book has some sort of tie in with the Loch Ness Monster is much of a spoiler considering the title (I mean really what do you think any book is about with the word "Loch" in it... ;-). Anyhow, this book is really a fun read with a couple of my favorite characters in Dane and Bones along with some new characters (some likeable, some barely bearable and some not so nice ;-). So, I don't like to make any comments that could be viewed as a spoiler but if you have read previous Maddock adventures and enjoyed them, you will enjoy this as well.Happy Reading!

Bones finally gets to find Nessie
Another brilliant book from David. I loved it.Bones finally has a chance to go after a mythical monster with Dane, and boy is it fun. Add to that the reporter and the cryptid hunter, and it makes for a fun ride.

Bones finally gets to find Nessie
As I always do I totally enjoyed this book, Dane and Bones always give us an interesting and dangerous adventure. This adventure takes them to Scotland looking for another artifact, what do they encounter, Nessie, Danger, Cult groups? Plus Bones finally has a chance to go after a mythical monster with Dane, and boy is it fun. Add to that the reporter and the cryptid hunter, and it makes for a fun ride. You will of course have to read the adventure for yourself. I know you will enjoy it. I am looking forward to next adventure.

Started slow, but a fun read. Very short book
Started slow but turned into another fun Maddock adventure. My biggest complaint is the length, it's only about 200 pages, more like a novella than a real novel. It seemed almost like I missed a book in regard to the relationship stuff though. An odd feel to it, still like the book overall though.

Good reading.
I liked the story. But I don't like how the story went from diving for treasure to hunting monster's.And I'm not liking the direction the Maddox and Bones sister is going.Maddox is starting to be kind of a jerk, Bones is a dog but he's a likeable dog.I think he needs to go back to more treasure hunting and a little less weird stuff.

Good, but
This book is in keeping with Woods' other highly enjoyable adventure takes involving myth, artifacts be and legends. But this one needs one more chapter to tie up the loose ends.

What mmonster?
I've just discovered David Woods' books and this was the second one I read. It's a rollicking adventure tale set in Scotland, with a guest appearance by Nessie herself, but the real monsters are, as always, the people.trying to rule the world their way. It would make an excellent movie and thunders along at a grand pace. Highly recommended for a wet and miserable afternoon!

Maddock and Bones are back
On discovering a sunken U Boat with a mystery attached our intrepid heres form an alliance with a reporter and a hunter in the search for long lost treasure and maybe solving an ancient legend. Great read fast paced and wonderful characters. Keep up the great work David and bring on the next.

Beyond silly
All too predictable. Loch ness monster and magic..sisterhood instead of brotherhood. The worst thing is that everything is succeeding at first try. Plot is beyond silly.I am speechless. But I did finish the book.

Looks like it is supposed to lead into another story
Ending leaves you with unanswered questions and doesn't appear to be a sequel . Looks like it is supposed to lead into another story. That said I read it in a day and couldn't put it down. Entertaining untill end. Would maybe read another but if feel same at end wouldn't read more.

Not quite up to Cusslers standards, but an entertaining read.
Not up to Clive Cuslers standards but an interesting read , needs to be better researched, you cold tell the author had never been to Loch Ness.

Intetesting
Quite a good story, but a very disappointing non ending. With no further information as to a sequel to actually achieve an ending.

All a bit formula.
Reasonable yarn. Suspect the author is running short of ideas.
