Nothing Like Merrel Footwear!
Merrell makes great shoes. The Vibram soles are durable and provideremarkabletraction. I have a pair that are similar, same type of sole, and they are over 10 years old. They last! Very well made shoes for hiking and urban street walking. The size 10 W(EE) gives you plenty of room. If you size up 1/2 size it's possible you may feel like they're too large unless you wear thicker hiking socks, then it's perfect. Comfortable without cramping your feet. If you wear athletic type running socks, in my opinion, too much room, not snug. My answer to all of this was to place another running shoe insole, or orthotic insert, on top of the Merrell insole, and it was a perfect fit for normal thickness athletic socks. You can have it both ways with socks of different thickness. The overall weight is heavy like a boot, but I think it should be for protection and durability. These are awesome shoes and they look great! If you haven't owned a pair of Merrell shoes, I think you will love this brand and shoe.

Decent multi terrain and everyday wear
I have had these for about 2 years. They have just started to fall apart. Seems to be pretty standard for shoes today. I have put a lot of mileage on these through deserts, mountains, snow and rain. They have kept my feet dry, offered decent grip, and have been my go to for every day wear. I will note that Merrell isn't as good as they use to be but they are still a decent shoe compared to a few other brands.

It is as good as my first pair.
It is as good as my first pair of the same shoes. I never understand why people rate shoes as good fit or bad fit. YOUR good fit may not be MY good fit. With that said, my size is 9EEE. This pair fits me great. When trying on fit, always get it slightly loose. On all day long hike, your foot expands and you will need an extra half size. My first pair of the same model is very good. I walked a lot and the bottom is worn out by my VERY HIGH MILEAGE USE. I wish they make the sole even more durable. The upper is still like new after 3-4 years. Not stitching is worn out. No glued parts peeling off. No material become frayed. UPDATE: Still using the first pair. Will continue to use until the bottom is all the way worn thru or the pebbles start to annoy me. Upper is still good. The NEW pair is slightly larger at the toes area. So product tolerance is noticed but only if you are as OCD as I am. I used the new pair on a long trip. Walked 12 miles everyday for 21 days. Every pair of shoes will have a hot spot if you use it long enough or frequent enough. Again normal product variance creates different hot spots even for same model shoes. This is no exception. No big deal. Just expect the rub spot to be somewhere else. I will recommend this product and will buy again. I heard that for hikers, quarter pound on your feet is equivalent to one pound on your shoulder. So, they go light weigh on shoes selection. This shoes is not heavy but certainly not light weight.

Excellent traction, but a bit on the heavy side.
I’ve put these shoes through plenty of hikes on rocky trails, and the grip has been outstanding. They inspire confidence on loose rock, dirt, and uneven terrain, even when the trail gets steep. The fit was comfortable right away, and they’ve provided good support on longer hikes without leaving my feet sore. The only drawback is the weight. They’re noticeably heavier than some other hiking shoes I’ve worn, which becomes more apparent after several miles. Even so, the durability, comfort, and excellent traction make them a dependable choice that I’d gladly buy again.

Great tennis shoe. Mine have lasted 3 years, and are still looking good
Love these. A shoe that lasts. These had a real sole. Not plastic junk. I don,t know about the new ones, but the ones i bought had the good sole. So important not to slip ,and fall.

Great shoe/boot. Own 2.
I own the boot version in size 12 and the shoe (ankle height) in 13. I wish there was a 12.5. Usually I’m a 12 but sometimes I’m a 13. The 12 hiking boot version is a little tight on my toes, especially if I wear big socks for a cold hike. The 13 shoe version I got (about 5 years after the boot version) is a bit too big. I wear timberland normal socks and I have a bit too much space. If I wear wool socks it’s ok-Ish. I got the shoe version to wear at work or during normal day to day thing. The 13 is very comfy but just a hair big. Like I said, 12.5 would be perfect. Love them. I’ve had tons of other brands and they either make odd noises as I walk or make my feet sweat. These are awesome. Would 100% but again. Even the size 12 boots. My ankles roll easily so the slightly tight fit is perfect for hikes, but not necessarily day to day trips for groceries. Love them and vibram makes a big difference in concrete and even rocks. Tree limbs or Icry asphalt. Hope this helps!

Merrell"s with a vibram sole are great!
I wear a 10 wide men's shoe. Finding a wide in most retail stores, even dedicated shoe stores, is hard. Fortunately Merrell offers a pretty good selection online. It could be better but almost every style that has a vibram sole comes in a wide size. I have owned Merrells before and they lasted for years of constant wear. When my recent purchase arrived, I took them out of the box and they fit fantastic, exactly what I wanted a 10 wide. The insole that comes with this style, the MOAB 2 men's hiking shoe, is probably adequate for most people, but I have an extra high arch and so I was easily able to remove the insole that came with the shoes and put in one customized for my use. The toe box is comfortable, the soul gives great support, and the lacings seem good. As with all shoes, care should be taken when simply grabbing the laces and tightening them but if you will take the smallest amount of care with your shoes the lace loops will last for the life of the shoe. These fit to size, were a great price, and I cannot recommend them enough.

Good Shoe
Best and most comfortable everyday shoe that I've had. My only issue is with the round shoelace. It keeps coming untied.

I love this style.
This is the second pair of this shoe. The Charcoal was on sale so I bought it. I look great. Lots of support and breathes well.

Sturdy build but not very comfy
My initial impression the shoes are very well built for sure can tackle most terrains found in the majority of hiking situations. They will also protect your feet from getting cut or injured by any sharp rocks. However I can't say they are very comfortable at least when comparing to my old hiking shoes. I reckon it's because the soles are really hard and the insoles are really thin, and the (unpleasant) contour/shape of the front footbed seems to aggravate the situation. Hopefully the use of heavy duty safety shoes insoles will solve this problem.
