Nice, quality glass cutter
I was in need of a new glass cutter and after looking around, I settled on this one. I like the design and feel of it. I also like being able to add the cutter fluid straight to the cutter. I am by no means an expert at cutting glass but I have done it quite a few times in the past. This cutter was easy for me to use and if I'd had my straight edge positioned properly, my cut would have been perfect. The cutter felt sturdy while using it and seems to have a good sharpness to it as well. I used it to cut down a 1/4in thick mirror and it worked great. Being the type and style cutter it is, I felt it was a good value and I'm definitely happy to have it in my toolbox to use any time I need to cut down glass.

Really Impressed with This Thing
To be straightforward, this is my first try at cutting glass, so I haven't experienced other makes/types of cutters, but this thing is so easy to use that I found myself thinking, "REALLY??? THAT'S ALL IT TAKES???" The results are perfect. I also got a set of Tanstic Glass Running Pliers for doing the actual break. I don't know how I'd be able to tell how much of my (up till now) success is due to the cutter tool, and how much was due to the glass running pliers, but the results have been so consistent and effortless that I think both deserve applause. I have only done straight cuts so far, and I've probably only done 15 to 25 cuts in all, but I haven't had a failed cut yet using these. In a couple instances, where I was lazy in my scoring (and didn't go *quite* all the way to the end of the glass), I ended up with a little bit of excess that I had to chip off, but I've found that there's no need to score repeatedly, as some have told me I need to do, but rather just one clean score that goes all the way. If you can hear that nauseating "nails on a chalkboard" sound, you're doing it perfectly. I've also only done fairly thin glass. I have some window/screen-door glass pieces I've collected over the years (some of which have already broken--I can use it since the pieces I've needed are smaller than the fragments), thinking I'd one day make a greenhouse or something. Haven't done that yet, but I have made a couple square terrariums, a shadow box, and a top for an aquarium that I'm using for plant propagation. I can see great potential for stained glass, too. Anyway, if this is your first go at cutting glass, I HIGHLY recommend these. If you're very experienced with cutting glass, I'd love to hear your take on them, because I gather from other cutters that it's supposed to be harder than it is for me.

Decent cutter
Decent basic cutter. Not overly comfortable to use, however. I did replace the tip that came with it.

Perfect tool for the job
I used it to cut up a big bathroom mirror into smaller pieces for disposal. Single pass was all it took to easily break along the the score.

Excellent glass cutter
I’m in the Glass business and I use this cutter every day. It’s self oiling and it cuts really well. I’ve been cutting with this one cutter for seven months now and I just had to change the blade out for the first time. I’m pretty impressed because the old Fletcher cutters don’t last that long unless you really baby them. The only thing that I would say is be aware that the head pivots. If you’ve never used one, it takes a little getting used to, but other than that, it’s outstanding!

If you do much glass cutting; you probably already have something like this
Cutting glass with a basic cutter can be a challenge. And while it can be challenging cutting glass with any tool...; it's much easier to cut with professional equipment.

Selling Used Product As New
Received a VERY used product today. Package is incomplete (missing oil dropper). Unsealed package and a cutter that looks as though it had been used on numerous projects and then returned. I certainly do not appreciate waiting for a tool that is needed for a project only to receive a used and damaged product. Certainly not endearing marketing.

Cuts well but makes a mess
This cuts well but dumps too much oil out with every cut.
