Great trays. Sturdy and should last for years!

If you are garden-obsessed like myself and find yourself with a ton of seedlings and other potted plants, you'll eventually need these mesh bottom trays to transport your pots and make watering a breeze, without worrying that your pots will be sitting in water and rotting out the roots. I hybridize hibiscus and sprout a lot of seedlings, which must be transplanted into 2-inch pots, and the 2-inch pots all line up and fit nicely in these trays, along with some of my other hand-made trays: tofu containers, Solo cups cut to the right height, bottoms of soda bottles, yogurt cups and dessert cups. Initially I was worried that the raised ridges inside the tray would unbalance my pots, but I've found no such problems. I also prefer these trays over the square "daisy trays" as this brand/design is way more sturdier and will last a long time. I paid about $8.00 per tray on Amazon, and got 10 trays total in a pack...very much worth it!

I have gardened for many of my 70+ years and have broken and thrown away more trays, pots, etc. than I care to think about. No more! This is my second order of this type tray. Also have the 1020 no holes, 50 cube seed starters with tall covers and shallow 1020 with holes, all of which are excellent. They are thick enough, even full of seedlings, to be picked up at the end with one hand and not worry about cracking. Am hardening off about 400 plants now and quality products like these make it so much easier and faster to move trays in and out of the greenhouse. The cost may be more up front but I think within 2 years the cost will average out with the cheaply made type that have to be replaced every year. Highly recommend Bootstrap Farmer products.

These trays are very sturdy and fit perfectly inside the solid, no holes trays sold alongside these. I haven't used them long enough to determine their long term durability, but they seem like they'll hold up well. The problem with them is the tendency for damage during shipping. 4 out of 5 of my trays had chipped/broken corners. The shipping box seemed to be in good shape, but the single sheet of crumpled paper inside was not enough to protect the trays. Perhaps the freezing weather made the plastic more brittle as well. I'm keeping them because the damage wasn't enough to impact their functionality, but it's frustrating to see this kind of damage when you pay a premium for extra strength trays. There are several other reviews that mention the same kind of damage, so this does not seem to be an anomaly. If I were to order again, I would probably do so directly from their website in the hope of getting better packing, but who knows.

These are the best mesh trays you will ever find for design or durability. Made in the USA. I bought the regular mesh trays and was so impressed that I bought the shallow/ microgreen mesh trays as well!

These inserts are outstanding. While inside the 1020 tray you can pick up a fully loaded tray by the ends without the tray folding up in the middle. They are heavier than the 1020 and you have to use more water when filling the tray. This is an outstanding work saver. You can move an entire trayof plants out of a 1020 tray without handling one cell pack. I own 90 of these inserts and have found nothing to complain about. Worth every penny spent.

This tray is very sturdy and can handle quite a bit of weight without problem. In the Spring I take my young plants outside during the day. This tray is great as I can water the plants and not worry if it rains. Excess water runs right through. When I need to bring the plants in, if water is dripping, I'll slip the whole tray into a Bootstrap solid bottom tray. If the plants are dry, this tray is sturdy enough on it's own to carry plants inside.

I do like the spacing, of the holes. I bought these to grow my sunflower shoots with a heavier seed density and works just fine. My first yields were an additional 4oz per tray. Harvesting is much easier too, now that there is no medium I can just flip the tray right over, blast with water to get rid of hulls and unsprouted seeds and cut.

Received my trays today 3 days early so amazing shipping. The trays are exactly as expected, strong and sturdy and should last a long time. These trays are so much better then anything I could find on the market and trust me I’ve searched. A little pricy but definitely worth the investment. Thanks Bootstrap Farmer

My trays arrived extra early. Many thanks to the seller. Honestly, I can’t wait to grow!! This will be great for wheatgrass too. The quality is good and it’s sturdy. I know it will last for years. Shipping & duty was a bit much, but it’s worth it to me.

I bought 20 of those (2*10 trays) to start my plants in my greenhouse. A tray can fit 50 dirt blocks of 2x2 inches. I'm using them extensively from April to August. I would definitely buy it again.

Early days, but from appears sturdy and looks as though it should last.
