Always read her books , when I was younger, still reading them. Never get tired of reading them. Love her way she writes.

I think Barbara Cartland is a fantastic author-I have enjoyed each book I have read.She takes you back to the days of gallant men and beautiful women-lots of drama in each book.I enjoyed the descriptive writing and would recommend this book to anyone with an afternoonof relaxing reading.

If you love Regency romance, Barbara Cartland was the quintessential regency romance novelist. These are books dated back from the 60s and 70s but still timeless before sex scenes HAD to be part of a romance novel.

A typical B.C. tale - where a man can't believe what he is seeing - is she real? She must be a figment of his imagination - nope - she's real .... and she needs his help.

I have read about 400 books by BC and i can surely include this one in my top 5 favorites. Even though the storyline is similar to her other works i still feel its different and unique in its own way. I love the ending and of course the last chaper that is full of sweet romantic lines.Her books always make me feel the power of TRUE LOVE... it does exist even though its hard to find these days :)

a charming story, typical Cartland plot lines, but very enjoyable.

Barbara Cartland ist so etwas wie die grande Dame der historischen Liebesromans. Da ich sie schon seit meiner Jugend schätze, habe ich nicht lange gezögert, das Buch herunterzuladen, zumal ihre Bücher in der Druckfassung seit Jahren nicht mehr verlegt werden.Im vorliegenden Roman darf die Heldin Demelza nach manchen Irrungen und Wirrungen doch noch ihre große Liebe, den Earl of Trevarnon in die Arme schließen. Auf dem Weg zum obligatorischen Happy End muss sie jedoch einen Anschlag auf den Earl vereiteln, der von seiner eifersüchtigen ex-Geliebten begangen wird, und weitere Abenteuer bestehen. Da sie eigentlich gar nicht im Haus sein dürfte (der Earl hat das Haus gemietet und sie versteckt sich mangels einer anderen Unterkunft in einem altem Priesterversteck) muss sie dabei zu unorthodoxen Mitteln greifen, um dem Earl zu helfen...Ein wirklich kurzweiliger Roman, wenn auch mit einer erwartbaren Handlung. Trotzdem kommt es aufgrund der nicht alltäglichen Handlungskonstellation immer wieder zu überraschenden Wendungen. Held und Heldin sind sympathisch dargestellt, wenn auch stereotyp im Cartlandschen Erzählmuster (unschuldige, hübsche aber verarmte junge Lady trifft reichen, gutaussehenden und zynischen Frauenhelden). Wer sich einen netten Sonntag Nachmittag mit einem eher klassischen Liebesroman versüßen möchte, und keine Angst hat vor gelegentlich auftretenden rosaroten Wölkchen, wird an diesem Buch seinen Spaß haben! Empfehlenswert für Fans klassischer Liebesgeschichten ohne erotische Sequenzen, die auch "Downton Abbey" mögen.
